March Calendar

Community Band Concert

March Madness is coming to Quirk! Experience the energy of the Cuyahoga Falls Community Band as they feature an eclectic selection of march music, ranging from beloved Sousa classics and spirited circus marches to traditional works from Spain, Italy, Austria, and Russia. This free event is open to music lovers of all ages!

Date: Thursday, March 19

Time: 7:00 – 8:30 PM

Location: Quirk Cultural Center, 1201 Grant Ave

Admission is FREE!

Maple Sap to Syrup

Join us Friday, March 6th, from 10:00–11:30 a.m. for a fun and educational class exploring how maple sap is transformed into delicious maple syrup! This hands-on discussion is designed for school-age children and offers a great opportunity to learn about a classic seasonal tradition.

Up to two guardians per registered child are welcome to attend. The class will take place at Northampton Town Hall at Keyser Park, located at 851 West Bath Road.

Since part of the program will be outdoors, please be sure to dress appropriately for the weather. We look forward to sharing this sweet experience with you!

Community Puzzle

Calling all puzzle enthusiasts! Stop by Quirk Cultural Center to help put the pieces of the community puzzle together. Relax, unplug and add a piece - or 200! Stay for a few minutes or a few hours. Come to Quirk and share a piece of the fun! Quirk Cultural Center is located at 1201 Grant Ave. No registration is required, puzzle lovers are welcome to come during the building's normal working hours.

 
 

Community Sketchbook

Sketch it. Pass it. Repeat. The Quirk Community Sketchbook is a collaborative art project that community members of all ages can participate in. Take home the Community Sketchbook (or hang out in the community room) and fill your own page with a drawing, poem, or anything else you can think of. When the sketchbook is full it will become a permanent part of Quirk's collection for everyone to see!

Social EYES

Do you or someone you love have difficulty seeing the world? This can lead to significant social isolation and feelings of loneliness. Come and join us for some fun and low vision friendly recreation. There will also be some light education about the newest technology to make life more manageable, even when it is hard to see. Group to be led by local Certified Low Vision Specialist, Amy Craigen, owner of Sight Assist Rehab. The group will be meeting at Quirk on the second Friday of the following months: February, April, June, August, October and December at 10:30 AM, for approximately 90 min.

Calling All Musicians!

The Cuyahoga Falls Community Band is looking for new members to join the fun! Sponsored by the Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation Department, this volunteer music organization rehearses weekly at the Quirk Cultural Center in preparation for seasonal concerts throughout the year, including weekly concerts during the summer months in parks throughout the city. New members who play a band instrument are always welcome. Whether you’re getting back into playing or keeping your skills sharp, this is a friendly, low-pressure way to make great music and connect with fellow musicians. Also, this is a perfect opportunity for Pride Alumni Band members to keep up their chops for that grueling Band Show season! For further details, call Quirk at 330.971.8425. 

 
 

Melody Makers

Join us for the Winter Session of Melody Makers at Quirk! Each class provides a creative, playful environment where children learn through song, instruments, and movement. This early childhood music and movement class is designed for ages 18 months to 4 years with a participating caregiver. Younger siblings are always welcome to sit in! Classes are held Monday mornings with two times to choose from: 9:30am and 10:30am.

Family Paint Party

Mystery meets imagination! Join us at Quirk on Saturday, March 7 for a fun, hands-on family experience decorating a mystery ceramic piece. All ages are encouraged to join in the fun! Registration is open for two sessions: 10 AM or 11 AM. All creations will be glazed and fired.

Glazeware Studio Monthly Membership

Create something beautiful in our glaze-your-own studio! Choose a Tuesday or Wednesday monthly membership and enjoy exclusive studio access from 9 AM–12 PM on your selected day for four consecutive weeks. Get creative and complete your own ceramic work of art at Quirk!  Ages 16+. Registration is required.

Adult Ballet

Stay active this winter with Adult Ballet at the Quirk Cultural Center! Enjoy a fun and energizing workout while building flexibility, coordination, and balance. Choose from two 60-minute Tuesday classes at 5 PM or 6 PM, or a 90-minute Thursday class at 5 PM. Ages 16+.

Spend your evening in the Glazeware Studio at the Quirk Cultural Center! Learn glaze techniques and decorative patterns as you create beautifully hand-painted ceramic pieces. Night Glaze meets the third Wednesday of every month. Ages 16 and over.

RecreART

Relax, unwind, and create at Quirk! Guided by local artist Jennifer Allshouse, explore painting techniques and styles while crafting original works inspired by pop art, illustration, cubism, and modern art. RecreART is held the first Tuesday of each month at 6 PM. Ages 16+.

Watercolor Workshop

Explore a nature-inspired composition this winter at Quirk! Guided by local artist Ana-Joel Falcon-Wiebe of Falcon Grove Studio, learn essential painting skills including color mixing, brushstrokes, and composition. Watercolor Workshop meets the first and third Saturday of every month and is open to all skill levels. Supplies are included and registration is required. Ages 16+.

Stay Safe Around the Water

Make a splash—safely! Join us for a fun and family-friendly session on water safety at the pool and along the river. This engaging class will help families learn how to prevent accidents, understand currents, and recognize and respond to potential hazards. You’ll also discover the importance of properly fitting and using life jackets so everyone can enjoy the water with confidence and peace of mind.
