MAG Aspire Athletes and Coaches at the 1st Ontario Cup MAG NewsThis month has been busy for the MAG community as we prepare for the competition season. In fact, our Aspire athletes just returned from the 1st Ontario Cup, hosted by the Ottawa Gymnastics Centre, where they showcased their skills and gained out-of-province experience. Congrats to Anton, Elian, George, Jackson, Logan, and Coach Kyle of CGC and Nathaniel and Coach Daniel from Ortona. Your hard work and dedication really showed through. And big ups to Rory Freeman who took gold for Team Alberta! π€ π₯ After the event, the whole team was invited to participate in a camp allowing them to train alongside the Ontario gymnasts and experienced coaches. This further enhanced their skills and knowledge. πͺ It was an amazing trip! We are incredibly proud of all our athletes for their outstanding performance and dedication. Their achievements reflect the efforts and commitments of their coaches! On behalf of the Alberta MAG program, we wish you a happy holiday and a prosperous new year! π

TG NewsThe Trampoline community wants to thank our manager, Keevin Madigan for all his contributions and efforts to improve the program. His last day was Dec 11th before moving on to new projects. Throughout his time with AGF, Keevin was a vital team member and worked tirelessly to support and encourage the TG community! Keevin has been instrumental behind the scenes at events, including last year's Provincial Championships in Calgary, and Canadian Championships in Gatineau. He was also a leader at the assembly meetings at our past two AGM weekends. In the office, he was committed to updating and streamlining old processes and reallocating funding for better usage. Even with his extremely picky eating habits and his obsession with all things Canadian Tire, Keevin was an amazing teammate and a delight to work with! Though AGF will miss him, we hope he will find success and happiness within his new chapter. Thank you so much for everything, Keevin! We're sure to see him as a spectator at future gymnastics events across the country; so if you run into him, be sure to say hi! _________________________________________ Do you have a passion for Sport and want to work in Sport Management? ππ A listing for the new TG Program Manager position can be found on our website.

AGF and the Provincial and Territorial Gymnastics Sports organizations across Canada are pleased to announce the launch of SafeSport Gym Education.
SafeSport Gym Education is a collection of gymnastics organizations from across the country who worked hard to create documentary-style videos to share what safe sport means from real people, completely unscripted from real athletes, real coaches and real parents.
This is a collection of moments, feelings, and stories to educate us all.
Visit SafeSportGymEducation.org to view videos for all ages and for all people involved in our sport, in both official languages. You will also find Activity Books, Colouring Pages, and fact sheets about each video!
Feel free to browse and share and stay safe, because Safe Sport is Everyone's Responsibility.

A Word from Finance and Membership π΅π°π² Happy Holidays to everyone in the AGF world!
You may have heard that the Government of Canada has announced a Goods and Services Tax (GST) Holiday for some items purchased between December 14th thru February 15th, 2025. Even though inflation continues to fall and prices have largely stabilized in Canada, this time of year can still be very expensive for some families, so every little bit of savings could help. Unfortunately, this tax break is generally directed towards party foods and eating out, as well as several categories of children's items and gifts. You can find a more detailed list here. Sadly, gymnastics registration fees are not on that list! π Nor are team gear such as bodysuits, singlets, or tracksuits. Sorry everyone, sporting clothing is specifically exempt. So if anyone was planning on sending in their Session 3 registrations (due March 7) early, or grabbing their Team AB gear ahead of the competition season, you'll be out of luck. Hopefully, though, you or your club will be able to take advantage of the discount in other ways. I also wanted to send along my best wishes to Keevin Madigan, who recently ended his time as TG Manager. It was definitely a pleasure to work alongside him, and I really appreciated his insight and labours as we crafted the TG budget. Also, a favourite memory of mine was sitting in the stands last year at Provincials, watching Keevin and Roland doing a push-up challenge! Thanks again, Keevin, and enjoy what comes next. And to everyone else, have a wonderful winter break, and we'll see you in 2025. Oh and let's go ASU in NCCA football. πππ
