Release of Liability Waiver

I, the undersigned, as the parent or legal guardian of the children listed, do hereby give my full consent and approval for the children listed as above, “the Participant(s)” to participate in summer day camp activities at Grande Prairie and Area Safe Communities facilities located at 10318 92 Street, Grande Prairie, Alberta, operated by Grande Prairie and Area Safe Communities Committee, during the months of July and August 2026, and agree as follows:

I warrant and represent that I am the parent, legal guardian of the Participant(s) or have been duly authorized by the parent or legal guardian to represent the Participant(s) named above.

By entering the property and facilities of Grande Prairie and Area Safe Communities, I acknowledge the inherent risks present in participation in indoor activities and in an outdoor play environment. While Grande Prairie and Area Safe Communities Committee (GPASC), its staff, its partners and guest presenters, work diligently to provide a safe environment for all, certain risks, whether inherent in the facility itself or caused by myself, any of the Participant(s), or other participants of Grande Prairie and Area Safe Communities, are unavoidable. These risks include, but are not limited to, damage to personal property, personal injury or death. I voluntarily assume and accept all risks to myself, the Participant(s), and my personal property.

I hereby, for myself and on behalf of the Participant(s), agree to save and hold harmless and fully indemnify Grande Prairie and Area Safe Communities Committee Management, Staff, Guest Presenters and Partners, on the account that all normal safety procedures have been taken on behalf of Management, Staff, Guest Presenters and Partners, from any and all liability for any personal injury or injury to any third-party child resulting from the Participant(s) actions/participation in the Safety City Little Heroes and Helpers Day camp, the Safety City Explorers Guild day camp and/or the Safety City Level-Up Day camp program activities in July and August of 2026, and above-mentioned activities.

I hereby release Grande Prairie and Area Safe Communities Committee and its entire staff, partners and guest presenters, from any and all liability, on the account that all normal safety procedures have been taken on behalf of Management and Staff, for any injuries that the Participant(s) may sustain as a result of any activities taken place at Grande Prairie and Area Safe Communities.

Cancellation, Transfer and No-Show Policy 

As a non-profit organization, Grande Prairie and Area Safe Communities (GPASC) applies administrative fees for cancellations and program transfers to ensure the efficient allocation of resources. 

Transfer Policy 

We are pleased to assist with requests to transfer to a future class date when possible. To initiate a transfer, kindly reach out to us. 
For a successful transfer, we kindly request a minimum of 2 weeks notice before the scheduled start date of camp. 

No-shows are not eligible for class transfers.

Cancellation Policy 

Cancellation by GPASC
If the camp cannot be run safely, GPASC reserves the right to cancel a camp.  If GPASC cancels a full camp, a full refund will be awarded to all participants.  If GPASC cancels a portion of a camp, a pro-rated refund will be provided based on hours of camp time cancelled.

Cancellation Policy by Parents/Guardians
We understand that unforeseen circumstances can affect your summer schedule. Should you find yourself in a position where you wish to cancel your registration, please contact our office by emailing programs@gpsafecommunities.com

• If a participant withdraws 1 month before the start date of their camp, a full refund (minus an admin fee of $25) will be issued.
• If a participant withdraws from camp less than 1 month but more than 2 weeks before the start date of their camp, a 50% refund will be issued (minus an admin fee of $25).
• If a participant withdraws less than 2 weeks before the start date of their camp but more than 7 days before, a 25% refund will be issued (minus an admin fee of $25).
• If a participant withdraws 7 days or less before the start date of their camp, no refunds will be issued.
• No refunds will be issued for campers using daily drop-in portions of camp weeks.
• No refunds will be issued for suspension or withdrawal from camps in progress.

No-Show Policy 

No refunds or account credits will be provided for no-shows to the class.  

A registrant will be classified as a no-show if they fail to attend the class without providing at least 24 hours advance notice before the class start time.

Extenuating circumstances may be considered on a case by case basis.
