About the Gathering:

Location: Whitehorse, Yukon

We’re excited to bring the Recreation Gathering back to Whitehorse for 2026!

Join recreation leaders, practitioners, and community members from across the Yukon for several days of learning, connection, and shared experiences.

The Gathering is hosted in partnership with the Yukon Government Sport and Recreation Branch and will take place on the traditional territories of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and Ta’an Kwäch’än Council.

Tuesday, October 6th

Travel day for participants coming from rural Yukon communities
Evening welcome bonfire at Robert Service Campground with snacks and refreshments

Wednesday, October 7th

Full day of sessions and activities
Evening swim at Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs

Thursday, October 8th

Full day of sessions and activities
Late afternoon glass blowing at Lumel Studios
Awards Dinner at MacBride Museum

Friday, October 9th

Travel day for participants returning to rural Yukon communities

Registration Fees:

Gathering Registration Fee - $100
Individual RPAY Membership - $15, if required
- If you do not currently have one, the membership fee will be added to your registration.
- All RPAY memberships expire on August 31st each year, regardless of the date purchased.
Accommodation Fee - $130 total, if required
- Includes three nights of accommodation at the Gold Rush Inn for participants travelling from outside Whitehorse.
Optional activities:
- Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs - $10
- Glass blowing at Lumel Studios - $10

Registration fees have increased this year to help offset rising event costs. If cost is a barrier for participants travelling from rural communities, please reach out to us as we may be able to provide support.

Please submit one registration per participant.

Organizations registering multiple participants can request a single combined invoice at payment.

Accommodation is provided at a significantly subsidized rate to support rural community participation in the Recreation Gathering. Participants receiving accommodation are expected to attend the full Gathering for the duration of their stay.
