Award Criteria:
This program is the coaching equivalent to an athletic scholarship. The coaching scholarships program is targeted at aspiring (developing) Manitoba coaches enrolled full-time at one of Manitoba’s post secondary institutions (undergraduate or post-graduate). The “student coaches” will work with a recognized coaching expert, known as a mentor or master coach, to help them achieve pre-determined learning objectives. The scholarships would also allow the “student coach” to take advantage of unique coaching educational opportunities. The program is a flexible approach to the task of creating meaningful educational opportunities for developing coaches. Confirmation of
registration is required.
Award Value:
Up to four coaching scholarships of $1,500 each – plus a matching university/provincial sport association award of $1,500 or more. The intent of the program is that the sponsoring university or provincial sport organization would match the award value, and scholarships are awarded on this condition.
