The Canadian Gymnaestrada (CG) is a nation-wide Gymnastics for All (GfA) event hosted by Gymnastics Canada (GymCan) every 4 years. The event provides a national platform for groups of 10 or more gymnasts from across the country to come together and share their passion and love of gymnastics. By featuring performances in both indoor and outdoor venues, the event format not only draws local spectators in, but it also brings the excitement of the event to the local community.

The 2026 theme is “Fields of Dreams.”
Inspired by the vastness of the prairies, Fields of Dreams celebrates the boundless space to imagine, move, and create without limits. Each performance represents a shared vision within Canada’s expansive landscape of creativity and collaboration. From Regina to Lisbon, the theme reflects a journey that is both deeply rooted in local inspiration and boldly oriented toward global aspirations.

Canadian Gymnaestrada Eligibility 

Group Eligibility

Any Group wishing to attend the Canadian Gymnaestrada must:

1. Meet all eligibility requirements defined by their Provincial/Territorial Gymnastics Organization (P/TO).
2. Submit all required registration information and fees as per the deadlines outlined within the official Canadian Gymnaestrada Information Bulletins.
3. Have at least one designated lead coach with a minimum of NCCP Competition 1 Certification.
4. Have a designated group manager. A group manager coordinates and facilitates their group’s participation in the event and is responsible for all direct communication with the organizers before, during, and after.

Individual Eligibility

Any individual wishing to participate in the Canadian Gymnaestrada must:

1. Be a registered member in good standing with their PTO.
2. Adhere to all relevant policies and code of conduct.
3. Provincial Screening Requirements

Coach Eligibility

In addition to all individual eligibility requirements, anyone wishing to be designated as a coach must:

1. Be minimum NCCP Gymnastics Foundations Certified in at least one gymnastics discipline.
2. Have completed Respect in Sport, CAC Safe Sport Training, NCCP Making Headway, and CAC Rule of Two training.
