Reverse Auditions for Bréifne Ó Ruairc Troupe and Foireann Cavan

We are thrilled to announce that Scoil Rince Bréifne Ó Ruairc is building our performance and competition teams for the 2025-26 year!

There are 2 opportunities this summer to try a class and attend a family meeting for the Bréifne Ó Ruairc Troupe and Foireann Cavan:

• Saturday, July 12, 2:45-3:45 PM
• Sunday, August 24, 1-2 PM

Our “reverse audition” process is unique in that dancers and families are the ones who choose to join a Bréifne Ó Ruairc team, not the other way around! Joining any team is a big commitment. For us, the most important factor in building a team is ensuring that dancers and their families fully understand the commitment they are making. That’s why dancers and their families must attend one of the two reverse auditions prior to joining a team, whether they are new to our teams or are returning members.

What to expect at the reverse audition:

• First 30 min - children participate in a short dance class
• Last 30 min - children and parents attend a meeting about the teams

Bréifne Ó Ruairc Troupe

Bréifne Ó Ruairc Troupe is our performance team, open to dancers at the Advanced Lions, Emeralds, and Crowns levels. Troupe dancers build a repertoire of performance pieces and perform frequently. Although participation in many of Bréifne Ó Ruairc’s performances is open to all dancers in the school, there are some that are limited to the troupe.

Foireann Cavan

Foireann Cavan is our competition team, open to dancers at the Advanced Lions, Emeralds, and Crowns levels who want to participate in team and solo competitions at feile/feiseanna. Although participation in competitions is open to all dancers in the school, members of Foireann Cavan have dedicated positions on ceili teams and receive training that prepares them specifically for competition.
