Preamble
IGA Stadium is a non-profit organization (NPO) whose mission is to promote the recreational practice of tennis. IGA Stadium is also a national centre for high-performance training, development and competitions, a coaching and referee certification centre, a publicly accessible tennis facility and a multi-purpose centre.
The purpose of the IGA Stadium Terms of Use and their application is to promote the safe use of the IGA Stadium facilities in accordance with its mission, its agreement with the City of Montreal, its obligations towards its partners, its Users, its Staff and its facilities.
As part of the management and operation of IGA Stadium, Tennis Canada may work in collaboration with Tennis Montréal, an organization mandated to support the implementation of certain local activities, including the administrative management of authorized coaches and private lessons. Any action by Tennis Montréal in this context is carried out in accordance with the powers held by Tennis Canada.
The Terms of Use apply to anyone who accesses IGA Stadium, including, but not limited to, Public Users, athletes participating in a training program, coaching staff, partners and tenants.
The IGA Stadium User agrees to comply with the Terms of Use currently in force and those that will be in force in the future.
Definitions
"Authorized Coach": any person duly accredited and authorized by Tennis Montréal and/or recognized by Tennis Canada to offer private or semi-private activities and lessons on the IGA Stadium facilities.
"Staff": any person employed or mandated by IGA Stadium, excluding authorized coaches.
"User": any person who accesses the facilities of the IGA Stadium, with the exception of members of the Staff*
"IGA Stadium": the legal name of Tennis Canada – Jarry Stadium, located at 285 Gary-Carter Street, H2R 2W1, Montreal, QC.
For the purposes of this document, unless the context otherwise requires, defined words used in the singular include the plural, and vice versa.
*Note: As part of its mission to develop tennis, IGA Stadium grants certain exemptions to Athlete Users and certified training staff, recognized by our partners such as Tennis Montréal, Tennis Québec or Tennis Canada's National Training Centre.
Penalties
Users who violate the Terms of Use of IGA Stadium or a law may be subject to one or more sanctions. In this regard, IGA Stadium reserves the right to impose unequivocal sanctions in the event of serious breaches of the Terms of Use, including behaviour that endangers the safety or integrity of the facilities.
The severity of the penalties is determined according to the extent of the breach or its recurrence.
Sanctions may be in the form of a verbal or written warning, a temporary restriction of access to IGA Stadium, immediate expulsion, temporary expulsion or permanent expulsion.
Any request for review of a sanction must be made in writing and will be considered at the sole discretion of the IGA Stadium management.
Recommendations
IGA Stadium and its Personnel are not responsible for damage, loss or theft of Users' personal belongings inside or outside IGA Stadium. It is recommended to leave valuables at home.
It is recommended that Users undergo an annual medical examination before using the facilities. Anyone with special health conditions is responsible for their condition and medical follow-up. It is recommended to notify the IGA Stadium reception.
Responsability
The User agrees to use the facilities of the IGA Stadium at his own risk. Users are fully responsible for any damage to equipment or facilities and will be required to reimburse the cost of repair or replacement.
The User acknowledges that it is the User's responsibility to obtain the necessary information and to inquire with the Personnel in order to know how to use the equipment safely and appropriately.
In the event of an emergency or force majeure, IGA Stadium prioritizes the safety of its facilities and users and may restrict access without obligation to refund.
Regulations Governing the Facilities
Civility
Anyone who accesses the IGA Stadium must respect the laws in force and maintain respectful behaviour towards other Users and Staff. Any act of a sexual or fraudulent nature, theft, physical or verbal aggression towards another User or a member of the Staff, may result in immediate and permanent expulsion from IGA Stadium. Finally, IGA Stadium cooperates fully with the competent authorities in the event of a violation.
Reserved access and use of facilities
Access to the tennis courts is reserved for Users who have made a valid reservation or participated in an activity organized and authorized by Tennis Canada.
All Users are required to read the Terms of Use before accessing the IGA Stadium facilities. Access to the IGA Stadium facilities is only possible for Users with an account on the booking platform and a paid reservation for a tennis court, for adults accompanying a User under 12 years of age, for IGA Stadium Staff as well as for its tenants and partners. IGA Stadium may restrict or deny access to any person deemed harmful to the safety or proper functioning of the facilities. Inspections or searches of personal belongings are permitted to ensure compliance with regulations and the safety of the premises.
All Users must comply with the registration procedure before accessing the courts by indicating their presence at the reception, registering the names of their playing partners if applicable, and scanning the code linked to their user profile at the turnstiles at the entrance.
All Users agree to have their photo taken so that it can be linked to their booking profile for identification purposes.
IGA Stadium reserves the right to terminate or modify one, several or all of its services, including for renovation, repair, maintenance or other force majeure events, as necessary, without any compensatory compensation being required. The management can adapt the use of the spaces (courts, locker rooms, lounge) according to organizational needs or for special events.
All Users under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult in charge or supervised by a program recognized by the IGA Stadium. The accompanying person must access the facilities through the reception desk and his or her access is limited to the lounge area, the indoor bleachers, the washrooms, the boutique and, if the User is 5 years of age or younger, the locker rooms corresponding to the adult's gender.
For Tennis Court Users who have a reservation or are part of a program recognized by IGA Stadium, access includes:
· The lounge area, including the washrooms, bleachers and boutique;
· The corridor leading to the changing rooms;
· The changing rooms;
· The central corridor of the section of 11 tennis courts;
· The stairs and elevator leading to the clay courts for players who have had confirmation of access from the reception;
· The tennis court confirmed by our Reception Staff.
Prohibitions
Inside IGA Stadium and on outdoor courts, it is forbidden to bring with you:
· Animals, except service dogs and guide dogs. For safety reasons, the IGA Stadium Staff may require the dog owner to provide the required documents attesting to its certification as a service dog or guide dog;
· Weapons or dangerous objects;
· Alcohol and drugs;
· Ball baskets, the use of which is strictly reserved for authorized coaches;
· Skates, scooters, skateboards and bicycles;
· Any advertising or promotional material not previously authorized by the IGA Stadium Staff;
· Any material dedicated to sale not previously authorized by the IGA Stadium team;
· Any material that can be used for a demonstration, regardless of the cause.
Private lessons and authorized coaches
Only coaches duly authorized by Tennis Montreal, or validated by Tennis Canada according to the applicable standards, are authorized to offer private lessons on the IGA Stadium facilities. All reservations and payments related to private lessons must be made through the transactional platform approved by Tennis Canada.Tennis Montreal acts as administrative manager for the supervision of private lesson activities, including the management of availability, reservations, payments and maintenance of the necessary accreditations.
As an exception, the teaching provided by a parent to his or her child may be authorised. In such a case, a note in the parent's account will link it to the junior account and no case will the latter be allowed to give lessons to another user.
Respect for the facilities
Alcohol and drugs
Any User who is intoxicated or under the influence of drugs may be refused access or expelled.
Access to the facilities
To ensure the safety of the premises, it is forbidden to voluntarily keep open any access leading to the IGA Stadium Indoor Centre and the outdoor tennis courts.
Commercial exclusivity clause
External business activities or partnerships within the facility must receive prior written approval. Any unauthorized activity will result in immediate sanctions, including expulsion. Private and semi-private lessons (a person being paid for his or her presence on the court, with or without a basket of balls) must be booked via the directory of certified coaches affiliated with Tennis Montreal or independent available on the court reservation platform.
Facility Integrity
Any User is prohibited from degrading, misusing or breaking any installation of the IGA Stadium, at the risk of exposing themselves to prosecution. If a breakage occurs, intentional or not, it is mandatory to notify the receipt, and the User may be held responsible for the cost of repairs or replacement of equipment.
Gameplay
Tennis is not allowed in areas other than tennis courts and outdoor hitting walls. The practice of any other sport, including soccer and ball hockey, is prohibited in all areas of IGA Stadium, unless authorized by the Staff.
Walking and running
It is forbidden to run in the indoor center, except on the tennis courts.
Nudity
Nudity, including bare-chesting, is only possible inside the changing rooms during changing and showering, and is also prohibited on outdoor courts.
Promotion and advertising or informational distribution
It is forbidden to distribute any promotional or informational material without the authorization of the IGA Stadium management. This includes the distribution of ancillary items, giveaways, as well as flyers, brochures and publications not pre-approved by IGA Stadium.
It is also forbidden to attempt to create an unauthorized trademark affinity or presence by any means. The use of the name, logo or image of IGA Stadium for commercial or advertising purposes is strictly reserved for IGA Stadium and its authorized partners.
Cleanliness
The use of garbage cans, recycling and compost bins is mandatory.
Peace of mind
All Users must respect the neighborhood and other Users of the IGA Stadium with regard to the tranquility of the premises.
Security
IGA Stadium reserves the right to conduct a summary search of any person who comes to one of its facilities and/or to use a metal detector.
Solicitation
It is forbidden to solicit Users in order to offer them products or services other than those offered on site by IGA Stadium or one of its tenants.
Sales
It is forbidden to sell items or to have items in your possession at IGA Stadium for the purpose of selling them without authorization.
Video surveillance
Any User who accesses the facilities agrees to submit to video surveillance. The data collected by the IGA Stadium (including video surveillance) is used exclusively to ensure security, operational management and compliance with regulations. IGA Stadium reserves the right to retain this data for a reasonable period of time to investigate incidents or comply with the law.
Rules of Use for Tennis Players
Booking transfer
A User may not transfer their booking to another User, whether the User is the Booking User or a gaming partner registered on the booking
Arrival
The Booking User and all partners registered on the reservation must scan their own barcode at the indoor or outdoor gates before accessing the courts.
This scan confirms the presence of each User as well as the assigned court number. Each User must present their own barcode, it is forbidden to scan their barcode in order to give access to another person.
The User has access to the area beyond the reception no later than 30 minutes before the time of booking. If the User has still not shown up 15 minutes after the start of their hour of play, their land may be re-rented to another User, without refund.
End of Play and Court Release
Each User finishing his playing time must vacate the court at the precise time in order to allow the Users who reserve the following period to start on the hour. It is the User's responsibility to organize their time to pick up their sports equipment (including balls) in order to clear the court on time. This time is part of the hour of play.
Clay Court Users must sweep their court before the end of their playing time in order to restore it. The User must therefore plan this time before the end of his hour of play, just as he must allow time for the collection of his sports equipment and balls. Users have 30 minutes after the end of their reservation to use the cloakroom and leave the premises.
When the playing time is over, and no other User shows up on the court, it is possible to continue playing provided that authorization is obtained from the reception of the IGA Stadium. The User will be charged for one (1) additional hour of rental according to the rates in force.
Maximum daily time spent on a Court
A maximum of two (2) hours of play per day is permitted when outdoor courts are open. A maximum of one (1) hour of play per day is allowed when outdoor courts are closed for the winter season. The limit applies whether the land has been reserved in the name of the User or not.
If, after the maximum number of hours has been reached, one or more courts are free, the User may be allowed to play an additional hour, as long as they register with our Staff directly at the reception desk and pay the court fees before enjoying the additional hour of play (so-called walk-on).
Court Change
It is forbidden to use any court other than that confirmed by the scan system on arrival or by our Reception Staff.
Lookers rooms
It is forbidden to change anywhere other than in the lockers rooms.
Each User must use the locker room corresponding to his or her gender, with the exception of children 5 years of age and under. Children aged 1 to 5 years, regardless of gender, may accompany their parent(s) to the changing rooms.
Because cell phones have many features, IGA Stadium prohibits the use of cell phones in locker rooms to preserve the privacy of its users and maintain a peaceful environment.
Everyone has full responsibility for their property and personal belongings.
In case of forgetting the combination opening the locker containing their own belongings, the User may request the assistance of the Reception Staff.
It is forbidden to appropriate and allow a locker to close outside of playing time. A 30-minute beat is allowed. Lockers left locked beyond these periods may be emptied.
After use, each locker must be completely emptied, clean, and unlocked.
Lost and found items will be stored with lost items and can be claimed at the IGA Stadium reception desk. At the end of each month, unclaimed items are sent to charity.
Dress code
Clothing adapted to the practice of tennis is mandatory.
In winter, boots and shoes that come from outside are prohibited on the grounds to avoid damaging the courts.
Number of Users per Court
A maximum of four (4) Users per lot is permitted.
If the reservation includes a private or semi-private lesson, a maximum of four (4) Users and one (1) private trainer is permitted.
List of prohibited items on Courts
The following are prohibited on all types of land, including: gum, food, any glass container.
In general, food, beverages (with the exception of water bottles and electrolyte sports drinks), boots, coats, backpacks and any other items not necessary for the practice of a sports activity are prohibited on the tennis courts and must remain in the locker rooms.
The occasional use of phones and tablets is permitted in the tennis court area as long as the devices do not disturb the enjoyment of the premises by other Users. The ringtone and all sounds must be turned off (silent mode, vibration allowed).
User Registration Policy
All players must register with the IGA Stadium reservation system on the online reservation platform.
The User must present his or her Accès Montréal card. Any User may be asked for a photo ID showing the date of birth. The User is responsible for updating his or her documents at the IGA Stadium reception, by email or in person. The privileges associated with Accès Montréal and the junior and senior age groups cannot be granted if the requested cards and documents have not been provided and validated beforehand.
Court reservation, modification and cancellation Policy
Booking
Reservations can only be made on the online reservation system. Any use of robots or computer programs that give an advantage to the User attempting to book is strictly prohibited and any suspicious activity detected by the Staff may lead to sanctions.
Accès Montréal cardholders who have previously registered with the IGA Stadium reservation system can reserve up to 3 days in advance, starting at 8:30 p.m. Example: reservation possible from Monday 8:30 p.m. to play on Thursday.
Accès Montréal cardholders aged 17 or under who have previously registered with the IGA Stadium reservation system can reserve up to 3 days in advance, starting at 7 a.m.
Non-Accès Montréal card holders (Regular) who have previously registered with the IGA Stadium reservation system can reserve up to 2 days in advance, starting at 8:30 p.m.
Payment
Payment must be made at the time of booking the court. The User who has indicated that he is taking a private or semi-private lesson when booking the court must have paid the fees for the services of the Authorized Trainer before accessing the field.
Responsibilities of the Reserved User
At all times, the User has the duty to comply with the Terms of Use. Failure to do so may result in a warning, suspension or sanction. No refunds are given for non-compliance with the rules. No reservation can be made if there is an outstanding balance by the User booking the account.
The Booking User remains responsible for the total payment of the court and the behaviour of all persons present on his reservation, including an authorized Trainer if applicable.
Even if the tennis court is free, the player(s) may not access it before the time designated by the reservation unless authorized by a member of the staff of the reception team.
The Booking User must declare, at the time of the online booking, all the players who will be present on the pitch. Any User who has not been registered may not use the courts or access the IGA Stadium grounds, unless authorised by a member of the reception staff.
Responsibilities for private and semi-private lessons
When the reservation involves a private or semi-private lesson, the Booking User must declare, at the time of booking, the identity of the authorized Trainer as well as all the Partner Users who will be on the court.
If a private or semi-private lesson is given without an authorized Coach or by circumventing the official terms and conditions, the Reserved User is subject to the same sanctions as the offending coach, including an immediate suspension or permanent expulsion from IGA Stadium.
Responsibilities of the Licensed Coaches
Licensed Coaches may self-reserve a court for personal recreational use only and not for instruction.
Authorized Coaches are subject to these Terms of Use for any presence on the IGA Stadium facilities.
Walk-on rules
15 minutes before the start of the hour of play, if a court is still not reserved for the next hour is available, the User may be authorized by the Reception Staff to play a third hour in summer and outdoors, a second hour in winter, as long as he/she registers at the reception and pays the court fee before enjoying the extra hour of play.
Court Assignment
IGA Stadium cannot guarantee the number of the court assigned to the User. It may be modified at any time by the Staff.
Number of courts per User and presence
The Booking User may rent a maximum of one (1) court per hour and must be present on the site at all times during the reservation.
All other Users registered as gaming partners are also subject to this restriction.
Cancellation deadlines
Any reservation made is considered a final sale. No refunds will be given for any reason. However, a credit applicable to the User's account in the form of a gift card may be issued, subject to the following conditions:
To obtain a credit for the amount of the reservation, a User must cancel at least 24 hours in advance. Within the 24-hour window, a credit equivalent to 50% of the rental fee may be given to the User's account.
In the event of a "no-show" or no-show (the Booking User has not shown up and has not cancelled their booking), they will not receive any credit or refund.
Any cancellation request must be sent by email to accueil@tenniscanada.com or requested directly at the counter with our Reception Staff. No requests sent by telephone will be accepted.
IGA Stadium reserves the right to apply any other sanction after a violation of the cancellation deadline regulations.
IGA Stadium may modify or cancel reservations for operational reasons without being held responsible for any inconvenience suffered by Users.
All cancellation conditions apply whether the User has booked with or without private or semi-private lessons.
Court pricing
Pricing for indoor and outdoor hard courts, as well as clay courts, vary depending on the time of year. Pricing may also vary depending on the type of User.
Rain Interruption and Resumption Policy
For any weather conditions that make outdoor tennis unsafe (including rain), play may be interrupted by the Front Desk Staff.
For outdoor courts, the interruption and resumption of play is exclusively decreed and communicated by the Staff of the IGA Stadium reception team.
Any User who does not respect the interruption of play is in violation of the Rules and may receive a warning leading to suspension of his rights.
The decision to resume play is made no later than 15 minutes before the start of the new hour of play.
Game Partner Modification Policy
Any request to change or remove a game partner must be made before the start of the booked court hour.
The request can be sent by email to accueil@tenniscanada.com or requested directly at the counter from our Reception Staff. No requests sent by telephone will be accepted.
Any user present on a court without authorization may be asked to leave the premises before the end of the hour of play, without the possibility of refund, and could be subject to a sanction.
Court Type Change Policy
Any request to change the type of site must be sent by email to accueil@tenniscanada.com or submitted directly to the reception staff at the counter. No requests sent by telephone will be accepted.
A fee may apply when a modification is requested within the 24-hour window prior to the hour of play, depending on the type of court being changed.
Credit Refund Policy
In certain situations that force the cancellation of a reservation, the Staff may make a refund in the form of a credit to the account of the Booking User. Here are the situations:
· Emergency work;
· Any other unforeseen situations recognized by the IGA Stadium;
· In case of rain, for outdoor courts:
If the interruption occurs before half (30 minutes) of the hour of play, a full refund of the rental cost is allowed, in the form of a statement credit. If the interruption occurs after half (more than 30 minutes) of the hour of play, no refunds will be allowed.
· Under no circumstances are credits valid at IGA Stadium refundable.
Terms of Use Review Policy
IGA Stadium reserves the right to review its Terms of Use annually to ensure their legal compliance and adequacy with operational needs, as well as their alignment with Tennis Canada and Tennis Montréal policies when required.
Commitment to Abide by the IGA Stadium Terms of Use
By accessing the IGA Stadium facilities, each User acknowledges that they have read the Terms of Use in force, undertakes to comply with them at all times and accepts that any violation may result in disciplinary measures up to and including temporary or permanent expulsion from IGA Stadium, without refund or compensation.
These Terms of Use are intended to ensure a safe, respectful and enjoyable environment for all. In particular, they supervise access to the fields, the use of the fields, the behavior of the players, the presence of authorized coaches, compliance with schedules, as well as the safety, maintenance and circulation instructions in the facilities.
Any registration, reservation or use of the facilities constitutes full acceptance of these Terms of Use, as well as any updates communicated by IGA Stadium.
