Thank you for choosing Renaissance Academy of Learning to host your child’s MasterChef Birthday Party! We’re excited to create a fun, creative, and memorable cooking experience for your guests.
Please carefully review the following Terms & Conditions and complete all required acknowledgements and consent sections before confirming your booking.
1. Booking & Payment
Number of Guests
- Your party booking includes accommodations for the number of children and adults included in your package.
- Additional guests cannot be accommodated on the day of the party. Please ensure your guest count is accurate when completing your booking.
- The maximum number of children permitted at a MasterChef party is based on the package selected at the time of booking.
- Payment
- Full payment is required to confirm your booking.
- Payment confirms your party date, time, and space.
- All payments are non-refundable, except where the Illness Exception outlined below applies.
2. Cancellation & Rescheduling
Cancellation Policy
- Once payment has been made, cancellations are not permitted and payments are non-refundable, except where the Illness Exception applies.
- If you are unable to attend for a reason other than a qualifying illness or approved extenuating circumstance, the booking will be considered cancelled and no refund will be issued.
- Illness Exception
- If the birthday child or guest of honour is unable to attend due to illness:
- The party may be rescheduled to a mutually agreed-upon date, subject to availability.
At least 24 hours' notice must be provided.
Appropriate documentation may be requested, such as a doctor's note or other reasonable proof of illness.
Rescheduling
- A party may be rescheduled once due to illness or an approved extenuating circumstance without an additional rescheduling fee.
- Any additional rescheduling requests may be subject to an administrative fee.
- Rescheduling is subject to availability and is not guaranteed.
3. Party Duration & Departure
The total MasterChef party duration is 2 hours.
- The party includes the scheduled cooking activities followed by time for pizza, cupcakes, and celebration.
- At the conclusion of the scheduled party time, all guests are expected to leave the facility promptly.
- A 10-minute grace period will be provided.
- Any time exceeding the 10-minute grace period, including time required for guests to leave the party room, will be charged at $5 per minute.
4. MasterChef Activities
The MasterChef experience is designed to give children the opportunity to participate in a fun, hands-on cooking experience.
Activities may include:
- Welcome and introduction to the MasterChef experience
- Chef demonstration and instructions
- Hands-on food preparation
- Measuring and mixing ingredients
- Decorating and assembling food
- Creating individual or group culinary projects
- Decorating cupcakes or other desserts
- Learning basic kitchen and food-preparation techniques
- Tasting or sampling food prepared during the activities
- Pizza and cupcake celebration
- Group photos and celebration time
Specific recipes, ingredients, activities, and food-preparation techniques may vary depending on ingredient availability, seasonality, dietary considerations, age appropriateness, and other operational or safety considerations.
Renaissance Academy of Learning reserves the right to modify, substitute, or discontinue an activity or ingredient if it is deemed unsafe or unsuitable for a participant.
5. Food Allergies, Dietary Restrictions & Food Sensitivities
Because the MasterChef party involves food preparation, handling, and consumption, it is extremely important that parents/guardians provide complete and accurate information regarding allergies and dietary restrictions before the party.
Parent/Guardian Responsibility
Parents/guardians are responsible for informing Renaissance Academy of Learning in advance of any known:
- Food allergies
- Food sensitivities
- Dietary restrictions
- Ingredient intolerances
- Medical dietary requirements
- Religious or cultural dietary restrictions
- Other health-related concerns that could affect participation in food-related activities
Parents/guardians must provide this information when completing the party registration and should contact Renaissance Academy of Learning as soon as possible if there are any changes before the event.
Food Ingredients
The MasterChef party may involve common food allergens and ingredients, including but not limited to:
- Dairy
- Eggs
- Wheat/gluten
- Soy
- Nuts and nut products
- Sesame
- Other ingredients that may cause allergic reactions
Ingredients and recipes may vary.
Renaissance Academy of Learning is a nut-free facility; however, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment or the complete absence of allergen cross-contact.
Parents/guardians are responsible for determining whether their child can safely participate in the activities and consume the food provided.
Alternative Food Options
Renaissance Academy of Learning will make reasonable efforts to accommodate disclosed dietary restrictions where possible; however, alternative ingredients, recipes, or meals cannot be guaranteed.
If a child's allergy or dietary restriction cannot be safely accommodated, Renaissance Academy of Learning may restrict the child's participation in certain food preparation or tasting activities.
Parents/guardians may be asked to provide an appropriate alternative food or beverage for their child where necessary.
6. Food Preparation & Kitchen Safety
The MasterChef party involves children participating in hands-on food preparation and may involve the use of kitchen tools, equipment, and other materials.
Activities may include the use of:
- Measuring tools
- Mixing bowls and utensils
- Food preparation tools
- Peelers, graters, or other kitchen utensils
- Kitchen appliances
- Ovens or other heated equipment
- Other age-appropriate cooking equipment
Children will be provided with age-appropriate instructions and supervision during the activities.
To help ensure everyone's safety:
- Children must follow all instructions provided by Renaissance Academy of Learning staff.
- Children must use kitchen equipment only as instructed.
- Children may not operate kitchen equipment independently unless specifically instructed and supervised by staff.
- Children must remain in designated cooking areas during food-preparation activities.
- Children must not touch hot surfaces, ovens, cookware, or heated food unless specifically instructed and supervised by staff.
- Children must wash or sanitize their hands before beginning food preparation and whenever directed by staff.
- Children must not taste ingredients unless instructed by staff.
- Children must not intentionally share food, utensils, or ingredients with other participants.
- Staff may modify or discontinue any activity if they believe it presents a safety concern.
7. Food Safety & Consumption
- Food prepared during the MasterChef activities may be consumed by participating children and guests where appropriate.
- Children will be instructed in basic food-safety practices during the experience.
- Renaissance Academy of Learning takes reasonable precautions in the preparation and handling of food; however, no food-preparation environment can be guaranteed to be completely free from allergens or cross-contact.
- Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring that their child does not consume any food or ingredient that may be unsafe for them.
- Parents/guardians should ensure that Renaissance Academy of Learning has been informed of all relevant allergies and dietary restrictions before the party begins.
8. Pizza, Cupcakes & Beverages
What We Provide
The MasterChef package includes:
- Pizza for the participating children
- Cupcakes for the participating children
- Plates, cups, napkins, and cutlery
- The scheduled MasterChef cooking activities
Bringing Your Own Food
- Outside food is permitted but not recommended as part of the MasterChef experience due to limited time
- Families may bring non-alcoholic beverages only.
- Parents/guardians should advise Renaissance Academy of Learning in advance if a child requires a specific beverage due to an allergy or dietary requirement.
- Renaissance Academy of Learning is a nut-free facility. Please do not bring beverages containing nuts or nut products.
- Alcohol is not permitted.
Food Allergies
- The host is responsible for ensuring that all known food allergies and dietary restrictions are disclosed to Renaissance Academy of Learning before the party.
- Parents/guardians are responsible for determining whether the food provided is appropriate for their child.
- Renaissance Academy of Learning will make reasonable efforts to accommodate disclosed allergies and dietary restrictions but cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment or prevent all potential cross-contact.
9. Parent/Guardian Supervision
- At least one parent or legal guardian of the birthday child must remain onsite for the entire duration of the party.
- Renaissance Academy of Learning staff will facilitate the scheduled activities and assist with group supervision.
- Staff are not responsible for providing individual childcare or one-on-one supervision.
- Parents/guardians remain responsible for their child(ren) during the event and must remain available to assist if required.
- Parents/guardians must ensure that their child follows staff instructions and the facility's safety rules.
