In honour of Pride week in Winnipeg, Winnipeg Waterways and the Manitoba Canoe & Kayak Centre are hosting a Free Paddling event on June 6th, 2026: the BOAT JAM!

Grab a paddle, float with friends, and enjoy one of the best stretches of the Red River together. DJ The Kaptain will be spinning tunes from on board our boat for the entire floattila!

Participants will travel downstream as a group from St. Vital Park to the Manitoba Canoe & Kayak Centre. On Saturday, June 6, the group will depart at approximately 2:00 PM, with arrival expected around 4:00 PM.

Participants are welcome to bring their own canoe, kayak, or other person-powered watercraft and launch with the group at St. Vital Park. Don't have your own boat? Rent one from us! There are multiple options for paddling. We are also offering seats on our motorized support boat. These spaces are ideal for participants with limited mobility or those who are not comfortable paddling. Space is limited!

All rental boats must be booked in advance and will be delivered directly to the launch site before departure. The event begins at At Vital Park boat launch, and ends at the Kayak Club. Transportation is not provided.
