TrWS FIELD TRIP DRIVER GUIDELINES FOR STUDENT BEHAVIOR
Field trips are an important part of the TrWS curriculum and experience, and are considered part of the regular school program. Therefore, all school rules and our code of conduct will apply. As a Volunteer Driver, we appreciate your efforts in upholding the code of conduct by supervising the children in your care. Please observe the following:
Before leaving on the trip:
Explain your rules about eating, noise level, and behavior to all students in your vehicle.
Inform students that they are to stay seated with their seatbelts buckled in the vehicle at all times while the vehicle is in motion.
Reinforce that there is absolutely no rough housing, throwing things, or punching games allowed.
Inform children that those who do not follow the rules and behavior expectations will be subject to disciplinary consequences up to and including receiving a discipline slip, notifying parents, and possible suspension from future field trips. For severe behavior, parents may be called during the trip to come and pick up their child.
During the trip:
Drivers will inform the teacher of any misbehavior that occurs in their vehicle or while students are under their care.
Drivers agree to supervise the children who ride with them during the trip and upon returning to the school, until the teacher arrives.
