2023 Gymnastics BC Scholarship Application
Deadline: Monday, July 31, 2023. Any questions can be directed to events@gymbc.org.
Gymnastics BC (GymBC) is pleased to provide financial assistance to a selected number of deserving student-athletes from our community each year.
All applications are reviewed by an Awards & Scholarships committee. Points are issued based on submitted content in the areas of Athletic and Scholastic Experiences and Achievements, Community and Gymnastics Involvement, Reference Letters and a Personal Essay.
Submission Criteria: Please include all of the following with your application.
*Please ensure you have all the criteria and information for all sections below prior to submitting your application. As incomplete applications will not be considered. Nor will subsequent submissions for missing criteria. *
- Part A: Athletic Experience & Achievements
- Information: Outline any athletic participation experiences & achievements (within or outside of gymnastics)
- Part B: Scholastic Experience, Achievements, & Information
- Information: high school attended, Post-secondary information and career plans.
- Required Documentation: High School transcripts and letters of acceptance in post-secondary institutions.
- Part C: Gymnastics & Community Involvement
- Information: outline participation experiences & achievements (within or outside of gymnastics) with regards to coaching, judging, volunteering, mentoring etc.
- Part D: Personal Essay
- Required: A 500 word essay
- Available topics:
- Describe the impact that gymnastics has had on your life.
- Describe how gymnastics will shape your future growth in life.
- Part E: Reference Letters
- Required: Minimum of two letters - one letter from someone outside of the gymnastics community and one letter from someone at your current GymBC club (coach, administrator, etc.).
- Letters from past coaches or supervisors may also be submitted.
- Part F: Final Information & Signature Authorization
- Information: Any additional information you may wish to include in the application. Ex. new articles, interviews, photos of yourself participating in gymnastics etc.
