The Redekop Family and Friends in cooperation with Volleyball Manitoba are proud to present the annual Nikki Redekop Memorial Scholarship to a graduating athlete who best exemplifies volleyball, leadership and scholastic achievements.
During her lifetime, Nikki Redekop was an inspiration to all who knew her because of her strength and determination both on and off the volleyball court. She loved life and lived by the motto “Life is a Highway, I want to ride it all night long”. This scholarship is in memory of Nikki and her vibrant spirit that was epitomized in her life.
Nikki's love for volleyball was evident very early in her life. She attended Glenlawn Collegiate excelling on the varsity girls volleyball team. During that time she was also a part the Manitoba Volleyball Association's (Volleyball Manitoba) Provincial Team Program. She went on to play on the University of Winnipeg Wesmen Women’s Volleyball Team for two years and on a Senior Women’s Team prior to her passing.
The scholarship is available to a graduating high school volleyball athlete who has aspirations of pursuing post-secondary studies at a Canadian University/College and participating in a volleyball program. The amount awarded to the recipient will be $500.00. Two letters of reference and high school transcripts are required to complete this scholarship application.
