Section 1: Assumption of Risk, Consent & Liability

In Consideration of permitting my minor child/ward to participate in robotics lessons and activities with Young Engineers, I hereby certify and agree to the following on behalf of my minor child/ward:

Legal Authority: I am the parent or legal guardian with full authority to make decisions for my minor child/ward regarding their participation in this program.

Awareness of Risks: I acknowledge and fully understand that participation in robotics activities, including those involving building and operating machines or battery devices, comes with inherent risks, including but not limited to, the potential for physical injury, equipment malfunction, or accidents that may result in serious injury or even death. I understand that these risks cannot be entirely eliminated, even with all precautions in place.

Child’s Readiness: I confirm that my child/ward is physically, emotionally, and mentally capable of participating in these activities. I have evaluated their health, and I believe they are prepared for the nature of this program.

Safety Rules and Instructions: I understand that there are rules and guidelines provided by Young Engineers to ensure safe participation. I will instruct my minor child/ward to adhere strictly to these rules and any directions given by instructors. I agree that my child/ward’s personal safety is ultimately their responsibility, and I am committed to ensuring they understand this.

Responsibility to Discontinue Participation: Should I observe any signs of physical, mental, or emotional strain in my minor child/ward, or should I become aware of any potential safety concerns, I will ensure their immediate removal from the activity and notify the appropriate program official.

BY SIGNING THIS DOCUMENT, I AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING ON BEHALF OF MY CHILD/WARD, MYSELF, AND MY HEIRS, ASSIGNS, PERSONAL REPRESENTATIVES, AND NEXT OF KIN:

Assumption of Risks: I accept all risks associated with my minor child/ward’s participation in the Young Engineers program, including any arising from negligence or gross negligence on the part of the program organizers, such as compounding or aggravation of injuries due to negligent rescue operations or emergency response.

Waiver and Release of Liability: I release and discharge Young Engineers, its organizers, employees, officers, agents, and associated personnel, including sponsors, venue owners, and any medical or emergency response personnel (the "RELEASEES"), from any liability for injury, disability, death, loss, or damage to person or property, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.

No Legal Claims: I agree not to pursue any legal claims, lawsuits, or actions against the RELEASEES for any loss, injury, or damages arising from my minor child/ward’s participation in this program, regardless of the cause.

Agreement to Indemnify: I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the RELEASEES from any litigation expenses, attorney’s fees, liability, damages, or costs arising from any claims brought by me, my minor child/ward, or others, regardless of the cause of such claims.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND UNDERSTANDING

I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THIS DOCUMENT, UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, AND ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE RELEASEES ARE RELYING ON MY REPRESENTATIONS, ASSUMPTIONS OF RISK, AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY TO ACCEPT MY MINOR CHILD/WARD’S PARTICIPATION IN THIS PROGRAM.

I UNDERSTAND THAT BY SIGNING BELOW, I AM WAIVING SIGNIFICANT LEGAL RIGHTS FOR MYSELF, MY MINOR CHILD/WARD, AND OUR ESTATES.
 

                          Media and Promotional Consent

I grant permission to Young Engineers and its affiliates, including Robokids Club, to capture, use, and display any photographs, videos, audio recordings featuring my child for promotional purposes on websites, social media, email newsletters, and print materials.
