Sport is not an equal playing field: An introduction to Anti-Racism Literacy and Action - Stakeholder Training

This interactive training session is designed for sport stakeholders (coaches, officials, athletes, board members, staff, volunteers, parents, etc.) seeking a deeper understanding of racism in sport and practical tools to address it. The session includes a participant workbook and combines presentations, discussions, and activities to support meaningful learning and reflection.
Training Topics include:
● Introduction to anti-racism literacy and key concepts
● Overview of the current state of racism in sport in Canada
● Practical anti-racism tools and strategies for sport settings
Learning Outcomes for the training:
● Understanding the history of racism in sport and its ongoing impacts
● Recognition of how racism operates at individual, community, and systemic levels
● Equipment of tools and strategies to respond to racist incidents on and off the field
● Develop a clearer understanding of systemic racism in sport and their individual and collective roles in addressing it
For anyone with an NCCP #, please note that 3 PD points will be assigned to your Locker for completion of this training!
