JLHOA Multi Sport Court Rules and Regulations


Jensen Lakes Homeowner’s Association Multi-Sport Court Rules & Regulations

The JLHOA Multi‑Sport Courts are designed to support multiple compatible racquet‑based sports. Residents may use the courts for any sport that is safe, and appropriate for a hard‑surface racquet court, provided they bring proper equipment and follow all JLHOA rules.

General Rules & Hours of Use
Residents must check in with JLHOA staff before entering the Multi‑Sport Courts.

  • Courts operate seasonally during posted hours.
  • Court use is not permitted outside designated hours to respect neighbours and comply with noise bylaws.
  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Residents may bring up to 3 guests. Guests do not complete their own waiver.
  • The JLHOA member who signed the waiver is fully responsible for all guests they bring.
  • Minors (ages 12–17) may NOT bring guests unless the parent or legal guardian who signed their waiver is physically present on the court or courtside.
  • Proper non‑marking athletic footwear is required.
  • JLHOA has a limited supply of racquets and balls available for borrowing with a membership card.
  • Violation of JLHOA Multi‑Sport Court Rules & Regulations may result in suspension of privileges.
  • All JLHOA general rules and regulations continue to apply.

Reservations & Time Limits

  • All time slots are 60 minutes:
    • 55 minutes of play
    • 5‑minute transition buffer
    • Users must be fully vacated by the end of the hour.

Multi‑Sport Court A (Reservable)

  • May be reserved one session per day per household.
  • Reservations must be submitted through the JLHOA online request form.
  • Staff will approve or deny requests based on availability and eligibility.
  • Upon arrival, use the resident access gate intercom and state your reservation details.
  • Daily reservation schedules will be posted outside the courts.
  • When no reservation exists, Court A is first‑come, first‑served by the hour.
  • Users may occupy a court for one hour only, unless no other players are waiting.

Multi‑Sport Court B (Non‑Reservable)

  • Operates strictly first‑come, first‑served.
  • Follows the same 60‑minute format.
  • If no one is waiting, users may continue for an additional hour.

Permitted Sports

  • JLHOA‑Supported Sports (Equipment Available)
    • Tennis
    • Pickleball
  • Additional Compatible Sports (Resident‑Provided Equipment Only)
    • Badminton
  • Other low‑impact racquet sports that:
    • Use non‑marking balls or shuttlecocks
    • Do not require net adjustments
    • Do not damage the court surface
    • Do not involve aggressive movement or heavy equipment

Prohibited Sports

  • To protect the court surface and ensure safety, the following sports are not permitted:
    • Volleyball
    • Soccer
    • Basketball
    • Football
    • Spikeball
    • Hockey (ball or stick)
    • Lacrosse
    • Baseball / Softball
    • Any sport requiring cleats, boots, or aggressive footwear
    • Any sport involving hard balls, heavy equipment, or high‑impact play

Net & Court Restrictions

  • Residents may not adjust, raise, lower, or attach anything to JLHOA nets or posts.
  • Please request staff for assistance with net adjustments.
  • Do not drag equipment across the court surface.
  • No chalk, tape, or temporary markings are permitted.

Court Etiquette

  • Do not enter the court until the previous group has finished.
  • Be courteous and share court time during peak hours.
  • Maximum 4 people per court at one time.
  • Those waiting must remain outside the fenced court area.
  • All spectators must remain outside the fenced court area.
  • Do not walk behind players during play; wait for a natural break.
  • Pick up all trash, water bottles, and personal items.
  • Use provided trash cans for garbage.
  • Do not adjust nets or posts; request staff assistance.

Prohibited Items

  • Smoking, vaping, or e‑cigarettes
  • Pets
  • Loud music, profanity, or disruptive behaviour
  • Bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, scooters, or strollers
  • Food, alcoholic beverages, or glass containers
  • Chairs, benches, or hard objects that may damage the court surface

Damage, Safety & Responsibility

  • Users are responsible for any damage caused during their time slot.
  • Report damage or safety concerns to JLHOA staff immediately.
  • Failure to report damage may result in repair charges or suspension.

Maintenance Closures

  • Courts may be closed for maintenance, weather, or operational reasons.
  • Notices will be posted via JLHOA email, website, and Instagram when possible.
  • Staff may close courts at any time if conditions impact safety.

Equipment Rentals

  • Limited equipment is available for borrowing with a membership card.
  • Available Equipment:
    • Tennis Racquets (Limit 4)
    • Tennis Balls (Limit 2)
    • Pickleball Paddles (Limit 4)
    • Pickleballs (Limit 2)
  • Equipment must be returned in good condition.

Minor Acknowledgement Signature (Ages 12-17)

This section is only for residents ages 12–17. Residents 18+ should skip this section.

Parents and legal guardians are responsible for informing their children of all JLHOA Multi‑Sport Court Rules and Regulations, including safety expectations, permitted activities, and proper court etiquette.

Youth ages 12–17 must sign below to acknowledge they understand and agree to follow all JLHOA Multi‑Sport Court Rules.

Membership Requirements

Physical membership cards are required for all JLHOA Multi‑Sport Court access. “Pre‑Possession” residents may use government‑issued photo ID in place of a membership card. No other exceptions.

A maximum of 4 people may be on a single court at one time.

Residents may reserve one 1‑hour session per day on Multi‑Sport Court A using the JLHOA Multi‑Sport Court booking system. 

Court access is permitted only during posted operating hours.


Guest Access Policy & Responsibility

Guests may only use the Multi‑Sport Courts when accompanied by the JLHOA member who signed the waiver.

Residents 18+ may bring up to 3 guests inside the court (maximum 4 people per court).

Minors ages 12–17 may bring guests only when the parent or legal guardian who signed their waiver is physically present on the court or courtside.

The signing adult assumes full responsibility for all guest behaviour and conduct.


I understand that I am using the Multi‑Sport Courts at my own risk and all JLHOA General Rules and Regulations continue to apply.


I acknowledge that I have read and understood all JLHOA Multi‑Sport Court Rules and Regulations.


I understand that failure to follow these rules may result in the suspension of JLHOA Multi‑Sport Court privileges, as determined by the JLHOA Manager.


Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability

I understand that participation in racquet‑based sports involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:

  • Slips, trips, and falls
  • Collisions with other players
  • Impact from balls, racquets, or equipment
  • Weather‑related hazards (wind, heat, wet surfaces)
  • Uneven surfaces or debris
  • Misuse of equipment
  • Injuries caused by other participants or guests

In consideration for being permitted to use the JLHOA Multi‑Sport Courts, I release and discharge the Jensen Lakes Homeowners Association, its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, contractors, volunteers, and property managers from any and all liability, claims, demands, damages, or causes of action arising from: Personal injury, Property damage, Loss of personal items, Accidents or incidents occurring on or around the Multi‑Sport Courts.

This release applies whether caused by negligence or otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

This section must be signed by any JLHOA resident age 18 or older, OR A parent or legal guardian signing on behalf of a minor.
