JLHOA Multi Sport Court Rules and Regulations

Eligibility & Waiver Requirements

All JLHOA members 12 years and older must have a signed annual waiver on file before entering or using the courts.
Only adults (18+) may sign waivers. Parents/legal guardians must sign for minors.
Waivers expire annually on December 31 and must be renewed each year.

Age & Guest Rules

Courts are for resident members and their accompanied guests only.
Residents may bring up to 3 guests (maximum 4 people per court).
Guests do not sign waivers; the hosting resident assumes full responsibility.
Children under 12 must be physically accompanied by an adult at all times.
Minors (12–17) may use the courts independently only if their parent/guardian has signed their waiver.
Minors cannot bring guests unless the signing parent/guardian is present on court or courtside.

Footwear & Equipment Rules

Non‑marking athletic court shoes are required at all times.
Shoes that scuff, mark, or damage the surface are prohibited.
Limited tennis and pickleball equipment is available for borrowing with a membership card.

Permitted & Prohibited Sports

Permitted:

Tennis
Pickleball
Badminton and other low‑impact racquet sports using non‑marking balls/shuttlecocks and no net adjustments.

Not Allowed:

Volleyball, soccer, basketball, football, spikeball
Hockey, lacrosse, baseball/softball
Any sport requiring cleats, boots, aggressive footwear, hard balls, heavy equipment, or high‑impact play.

Court Conduct & Restrictions

Do not adjust nets or posts; staff must assist with all net changes.
No dragging equipment, chalk, tape, or temporary markings.
Spectators and those waiting must remain outside the fenced court area.
No smoking, vaping, pets, loud music, disruptive behavior, bikes, scooters, strollers, food, alcohol, or glass containers.

Liability & Responsibility

Residents are responsible for all damage caused by themselves or their guests.
All injuries, accidents, or hazards must be reported to JLHOA staff immediately.
Failure to follow rules may result in suspension of court privileges.

Seasonal & Operational Notes

Courts operate seasonally during posted hours.
JLHOA may close courts at any time for weather, maintenance, or safety.

Membership Requirements

Physical membership cards are required for all JLHOA Multi‑Sport Court access. “Pre‑Possession” residents may use government‑issued photo ID in place of a membership card. No other exceptions.
Court access is permitted only during posted operating hours until one hour before close.

Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability*

I understand that participation in racquet‑based sports involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:

Slips, trips, and falls
Collisions with other players
Impact from balls, racquets, or equipment
Weather‑related hazards (wind, heat, wet surfaces)
Uneven surfaces or debris
Misuse of equipment
Injuries caused by other participants or guests

In consideration for being permitted to use the JLHOA Multi‑Sport Courts, I release and discharge the Jensen Lakes Homeowners Association, its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, contractors, volunteers, and property managers from any and all liability, claims, demands, damages, or causes of action arising from: Personal injury, Property damage, Loss of personal items, Accidents or incidents occurring on or around the Multi‑Sport Courts.

This release applies whether caused by negligence or otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

This section must be signed by any JLHOA resident age 18 or older, OR A parent or legal guardian signing on behalf of a minor.

Guest Access Policy & Responsibility

Guests may only use the Multi‑Sport Courts when accompanied by a JLHOA member with a valid waiver on file.
Residents 18+ may bring up to 3 guests inside the court (maximum 4 people per court).
All spectators must wait outside the fenced court area.
Minors ages 12–17 may bring guests only when the parent or legal guardian who signed their waiver is physically present on the court or courtside.
The signing adult assumes full responsibility for all guest behaviour, conduct, and any damage caused.
