Official of the Year: Cardinal Cup

The award and recognition will be provided to the SSM member who is considered to have performed in an exemplary fashion in the capacity of an official through the provision of logistical support to the sport of speed skating in Manitoba. (Cannot be a Board Member of SSM)

Volunteer of the Year: Don McCannell 

Outstanding service to the sport of speed skating in the province of Manitoba. (Cannot be a Board Member of SSM)

Sportsperson of the Year

Skater must have competed in meets and shown they can win, fall and recover and more importantly, lose gracefully. Skater not to have displayed poor sportsmanship, regardless of outcome of race. This applies to behaviour both on and off the ice.

Terry Mymryk Memorial Award

Awarded to a club skater who displays outstanding commitment, sportsmanship, and potential to the sport of speed skating. (Cannot be a Provincial Team Member)

Le Grand Oiseau (Male) Peter and Lori Williamson Award

Awarded to a male skater who is good ambassadors and leader for the sport, has a positive attitude and strong work ethics. Results are considered but not the main criteria of this award.

Awarded to a female skater who is good ambassadors and leader for the sport, has a positive attitude and strong work ethics. Results are considered but not the main criteria of this award.

Club Coach of the Year

To recognize a club coach for their outstanding commitment to club and skater development.

Impact Award

Awarded to a member, alumni or supporter of SSM who has made significant long-term contributions to speed skating in Manitoba.
