Intro Session Overview
Before beginning any regular training sessions, we require all athletes to complete a one-time introductory session. This session covers essential safety information and allows our trainer to assess your athlete's current performance and identify areas for improvement.
Intro Breakdown (1 Hour Total):
30 Min Gym: Begins with a cardiovascular warm-up to prevent injuries, followed by exercises focusing on movement patterns, coordination, posture, bone alignment, and understanding how body structure impacts skating. Athletes will also learn the importance of surface area in edge work and balance.
30 Min Skatemill: Focuses on proper skating technique including stride length and recovery, edge control, posture correction, body positioning, and controlled transitions. Safety training includes fall technique and equipment orientation to prepare the athlete for regular sessions.
What to Bring:
Shorts, t-shirt, and clean running shoes for dryland portion
Hockey gloves, hockey stick, and sharp skates for the skatemill portion
As a reminder, no photography or videography is allowed inside the facility, but our trainers are happy to record short clips and send them directly to you upon request.
