Volunteer Requirement Agreement

Why do we require volunteer commitments?
As a non profit organization we try to keep program fees affordable for our members. In order to keep operational costs down we rely on member participation to maintain our facility and help to raise funds for the Club.
Our volunteer commitments include (but are not limited to) BINGO, weekly common area cleaning, monthly gym cleans and assisting with fundraiser organization.
To ensure our members participate in their volunteer commitment we require a $300.00 bond cheque that will ONLY be cashed in the event the member does not fulfill their commitment. Payment of the bond requirement will dismiss you from volunteer commitment.
Lakeland Gymnastic Club Society Requirements for Member Volunteer Commitment:
1) An UNDATED $300.00 Volunteer Bond cheque is required per child, per class (ie. 2 children requires 2 bond cheques, one child in two classes requires 2 bond cheques). Multiple cheques for multiple requirements are necessary so cheques that exceed the amount necessary are not cashed in the event a requirement is not fulfilled.
2) Once signed up for a commitment you must fulfill that commitment. If you are not able to fulfill the requirement (away for work, sick) it is your responsibility to find a replacement (ie. another parent, grandparent or friend). In the event a commitment is not fulfilled by the member or a substitute the bond cheque provided will be cashed.
3) BINGO VOLUNTEERING: Bingo revenue is VERY important to the operation of the Club. Chairperson and Paymaster are trained positions and we encourage members to be trained for these positions. This can be done during a volunteer commitment for future requirements if a trainer is available. It is imperative that BINGO workers arrive on time and ALL positions are filled if unable to attend. The Club has access to a list of volunteers that will substitute on short notice for a fee (generally $50-$75). This list can be requested, however, REPLACEMENTS REMAIN THE MEMBER’S RESPONSIBILITY.
PLEASE ADVISE THE CLUB AS SOON AS POSSIBLE IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND AND CAN NOT FIND A REPLACEMENT AS WE WILL NEED TO FILL THE POSITION. THIS WILL RESULT IN AN UNFULFILLED REQUIREMENT.
