Last updated: November 2025
1. Billing
The Salsa Beats Membership Program operates on a monthly automatic billing system.
The monthly fee is $170 + HST and CC fees, charged to the credit card on file.
Billing occurs on the same date each month as the original registration.
It is the member’s responsibility to ensure that their billing information is current and valid.
Salsa Beats reserves the right to adjust membership pricing with a minimum of 30 days’ written notice.
2. Cancellation & Renewal Policy
Memberships have a minimum 12-month commitment.
After this initial term, memberships will not automatically renew.
Membership fees are non-refundable, non-transferable, and not prorated for unused classes.
Failure to submit a timely cancellation request will result in continued automatic billing until proper notice is received.
3. Declined Payments
It is the member’s responsibility to keep their payment information valid.
A $5 administrative fee applies to each declined or failed transaction.
Membership access may be suspended until payment and fees are successfully processed.
4. Unlimited Group Lessons (Skill Level Access)
Membership includes unlimited access to regular group lessons each month, subject to space and appropriate skill level.
Members must register online for all classes prior to attendance.
All students must participate in classes appropriate to their current level:
Introductory / Non-Partnered Classes: For those with no prior experience.
Beginner Level: Accessible once the Introductory material is completed.
Intermediate / Advanced Levels: Accessible only after instructor approval.
Members must adhere to all class prerequisites and teacher placement decisions.
Note: This membership does not apply to Choreography, Performance Team, or Specialty Workshops, which are billed separately.
5. Attendance Policy
To maintain fairness and ensure class availability for all students:
Members must cancel a booked class at least 2 hours before the scheduled start time.
Cancellations can be made through the member’s online account (Schedule tab) or by emailing salsabeatsbarrie@gmail.com.
Upon arrival, members must check in using their membership scan or notify the instructor if issues occur.
Late cancellations (under 2 hours) or no-shows will result in a $5 charge.
The first three (3) occurrences will be waived as a courtesy.
Repeated no-shows may result in temporary suspension of booking privileges.
6. Hygiene, Dress Code & Class Etiquette
At Salsa Beats, we take pride in maintaining a professional, welcoming, and respectful atmosphere for everyone.
Hygiene & Personal Care
Please arrive clean, with fresh clothing and appropriate use of deodorant.
Avoid strong perfumes, colognes, or scented lotions, as many dancers have sensitivities.
Hands should be washed or sanitized before class, especially for partner work.
If you are feeling unwell (cold, flu, fever, or contagious symptoms), do not attend class — this helps keep our community healthy.
Dress Code & What to Bring
Wear comfortable clothing that allows for free movement.
Ladies: dance heels, jazz shoes, or clean indoor shoes that allow for balance and turning.
Gentlemen: smooth-soled shoes or dance sneakers or any other show that allows for keeping balance and turning (no outdoor footwear on the floor).
Bring a water bottle if needed.
Etiquette & Conduct
Treat instructors, staff, and fellow students with respect and kindness at all times.
Be mindful of personal space, body contact, and verbal communication during partner work.
Listen attentively during instruction and avoid teaching or correcting others unless invited to do so by the instructor.
Any form of harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior will result in immediate suspension or termination of membership without refund.
7. Suspension & Hold Policy
We understand that life happens. Members may place their membership on hold under certain circumstances:
One (1) hold may be requested per 12-month period for up to 4 consecutive weeks.
Holds must be requested in writing at least one week prior to the billing date.
Holds may be granted for injury, illness, extended travel, or other reasonable circumstances at Salsa Beats’ discretion.
Membership billing will resume automatically at the end of the hold period.
8. Class Cancellations by Salsa Beats
Salsa Beats reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes due to instructor illness, facility issues, weather, or unforeseen events.
In such cases, every reasonable effort will be made to offer a make-up class
Cancellations beyond the school’s control (e.g., acts of nature, government shutdowns, etc.) do not warrant refunds but may be addressed through schedule adjustments.
There will be no classes held on statutory holidays based on Ontario's stat holiday calendar.
9. Photography & Media Consent
By attending Salsa Beats classes, workshops, or events, members acknowledge and consent that photos and videos may be taken during sessions.
These materials may be used by Salsa Beats Inc. for marketing, promotional, and educational purposes, including social media, print, and web publications.
Salsa Beats retains full ownership of such media.
Members who prefer not to appear in promotional materials should notify the instructor before class begins. While we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate, attendance constitutes consent to be included in group photos or videos taken in public class settings.
