Hockey Manitoba offers eligible groups the opportunity to apply for Sport Program Funding (formerly called Bingo Funding) through the Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries.
Hockey Manitoba continues to allocate 80% of Sport Directed revenues. We invite eligible groups which include Regions, Leagues, and Para Hockey to apply.
To access the Sport Program Funding, eligible members are required to identify the purpose and use of their funds via an online application. Upon approval, money will be distributed.
Hockey Manitoba is committing up to $30,000 through Sport Manitoba for the Sport Program Funding Program. Grant applications will be considered by Hockey Manitoba as received, and a response will be made to each applicant within 30 days of receipt. The following funding parameters apply:
- Applications must be submitted at least 30 days in advance of the initiative
- Applications must be completed in full (including summary budget) and meet funding criteria
- Maximum funding awarded for each application is $5,000
- 50% of the approved grant amount will be forward to applicant in advance of the initiative
- The remaining 50% forwarded upon completion of receipt of summary report within 30 days
CRITERIA
Initiatives must meet the following basic criteria to be eligible:
- Initiative must not be part of regular programming (no tournaments, league costs, etc.)
- Eligible initiatives include but are not limited to athlete assistance, equipment purchases, program enhancements, travel costs (within Manitoba), etc.
- Applicant must clearly outline purpose/goals of initiative and how it is being supported locally
- Initiative's length and scope should be robust (ex: long-term program vs. a single-day initiative, how many players benefit, etc.)
- The source and/or foundation of the initiative should be program driven (ex: more emphasis on locally ran programs vs. third-party groups)
- Applicant must recognize Hockey Manitoba's support
EVALUATION/FINAL REPORT
Applicants must submit a summary evaluation and report to Hockey Manitoba to ensure the initiative was conducted in accordance with the application. This will also assist the branch in developing best practices.
