What is Gymnaestrada?

Gymnaestrada is a Gymnastics for All event that celebrates movement and physical activity in a non-competitive, inclusive environment. This unique experience embodies the core values of:

• Active for Life

The event promotes:

• The growth of Gymnastics for All.

• Joy in exercise and movement.

• Skill development and personal growth in a supportive, fun environment.

What is Team Saskatchewan Gymnaestrada?

Team Saskatchewan Gymnaestrada is a cyclical program designed to prepare participants for various Gymnaestrada events, most notably the World Gymnaestrada, held every four years.

Definitions

• Developmental Team: A team tailored to the skills and abilities of its members, focusing on choreography that suits the group’s unique makeup. This option would require attendance at a minimal number of team training camps, making it accessible to participants with limited availability.

*Ages 9+. This team would only attend Canadian Gymnaestrada.

• Large Mass Routine: A performance featuring a large group of participants, focusing on simple yet visually captivating movements designed to entertain and engage the audience. This routine emphasizes aesthetic appeal and crowd-pleasing choreography rather than technical difficulty.

*Ages 9+. This team could participate at Canadian Gymnaestrada AND World Gymnaestrada if desired.

• Training Team: A dedicated team requiring participants to commit to regular training sessions, including additional practices at a local club. Members of the Training Team must also commit to representing Saskatchewan at the 2027 World Gymnaestrada in Portugal.

*Ages TBD, historically 13+.
