WATERCRAFT RENTAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
Please read carefully.
Physical membership is required to rent out boats. No exceptions. No other card or item can be used for rentals. Residents must leave their lake cards with the SSRA staff. The member that signs out the boat must be in the water on the same or separate watercraft throughout the entire rental. I read and accept
RENTERS & GUESTS: I read and accept
- All boat renters must be at least 16 years of age.
- If a resident is signing out a watercraft for another resident within their household or guest, they are responsible for monitoring that person and watercraft. They must be in another watercraft, and within a reasonable distance at all times.
- Guests are allowed on boats if rented out by a resident – who must be present on the water for the duration of the rental.
- Nannies (child care providers) are not permitted to rent boats
WATERCRAFT RENTAL RESTRICTIONS: I read and accept
- A maximum of 2 watercrafts OR 1 paddle boat can be rented per card.
- A maximum of 4 watercrafts can be rented per household at one time, regardless of the number of carded Members living at that household. The exception are paddle boats - only 2 paddle boats can be rented per household.
TIMING: I read and accept
- All equipment must be returned 30 minutes before closing.
- No boats will be allowed out 1-hour prior to closing.
- There is a 60-minute maximum time limit on all watercrafts
ROW BOAT & FISHING: I read and accept
- Fishing is allowed from the rowboat and canoes only
- The Row Boat weight capacity is 440 pounds or 3 adults. Follow the maximum occupancy listed on the stamp located inside the boat
- An anchor will be provided with the rowboat
SAILBOAT: I read and accept
- Those wishing to use the sailboat must be a resident (not the guest of a resident) and must provide proof of certification proving operating competency from a SSRA recognized trainer.
NON-SSRA OWNED WATERCRAFTS: I read and accept
- Boats used in foreign waters must be cleaned prior to launching, to prevent contamination of our lake.
- Docking/beaching any watercrafts at locations other than the SSRA Boat Dock or boat launch is prohibited.
- No motorized watercraft is allowed on the lake with the exception being watercraft that is owned and operated by SSRA staff, or those who receive approval from SSRA management to operate motorized watercraft, such as various lake management contractors.
SAFETY: I read and accept
- No horseplay or swimming from boats.
- No capsizing of, or jumping off of watercraft is allowed.
- No boat shall be operated in an unsafe manner.
- A life jacket must be worn and properly secured at all times if using any SSRA watercraft. No exceptions.
- Boats must be used outside of the designated swimming area.
- Docking/beaching any watercrafts at locations other than the SSRA Boat Dock or boat launch is prohibited.
- You must return to the dock immediately if SSRA staff sound the air horn, and/ or in the event of poor weather conditions (lightning, heavy winds, etc.)
- Watercraft users must adhere to Staff and Boat Patrol instructions at all times.
- Any SSRA equipment that is damaged should be returned to the dock immediately and the appropriate staff member notified.
