The Home Alone Safety Program is a fantastic opportunity for children to gain essential safety insights while developing their confidence!

This is a one day class.

The program addresses critical topics perfectly tailored for kids aged between 8 and 11 years including fire prevention strategies; how to stay safe around strangers; dealing with doorbells and phone calls, kitchen rules; what to do during power outages; safe internet practices; handling chemicals; how to call 911 and who trusted adults are; what do to if you injure yourself and so much more! .

This valuable program costs $50.00 and is 4.5 hours including a 30-minute lunch break.

Remember to be sure to pack a water bottle along with nut-free snacks and lunch for your child. Please send outerwear that is appropriate for the weather conditions with your child for outdoor breaks.

Maximum of 14 participants per class. Minimum of 7 participants for class to run.

Release of Liability Waiver

I, the undersigned, as the parent or legal guardian of the children listed, do hereby give my full consent and approval for the children listed as above, “the Participant(s)” to participate in activities at Grande Prairie and Area Safe Communities facilities located at 10318 92 Street, Grande Prairie, Alberta, operated by Grande Prairie and Area Safe Communities Committee, and agree as follows:

I warrant and represent that I am the parent, legal guardian of the Participant(s) or have been duly authorized by the parent or legal guardian to represent the Participant(s) named above.

By entering the property and facilities of Grande Prairie and Area Safe Communities, I acknowledge the inherent risks present in participation in indoor activities and in an outdoor play environment. While Grande Prairie and Area Safe Communities Committee (GPASC) and its staff work diligently to provide a safe environment for all, certain risks, whether inherent in the facility itself or caused by myself, any of the Participant(s), or other participants of Grande Prairie and Area Safe Communities, are unavoidable. These risks include, but are not limited to, damage to personal property, personal injury or death. I voluntarily assume and accept all risks to myself, the Participant(s), and my personal property.

I hereby, for myself and on behalf of the Participant(s), agree to save and hold harmless and fully indemnify Grande Prairie and Area Safe Communities Committee Management and Staff, on the account that all normal safety procedures have been taken on behalf of Management and Staff, from any and all liability for any personal injury or injury to any third-party child resulting from the Participant(s) actions/participation in the Home Alone Safety program activities and above-mentioned activities.

I hereby release Grande Prairie and Area Safe Communities Committee and its entire staff from any and all liability, on the account that all normal safety procedures have been taken on behalf of Management and Staff, for any injuries that the Participant(s) may sustain as a result of any activities taken place at Grande Prairie and Area Safe Communities.

Cancellation, Transfer and No-Show Policy

As a non-profit organization, Grande Prairie and Area Safe Communities (GPASC) applies administrative fees for cancellations and program transfers to ensure the efficient allocation of resources.

Transfer Policy

We are pleased to assist with requests to transfer to a future class date. To initiate a transfer, kindly reach out to us.
For a successful transfer, we kindly request a minimum of 24 hours notice before the scheduled class. Failing to provide this notice will result in the registration being categorized as a no-show.
Every registrant is entitled to one complimentary class transfer with the exception of no-shows. Any subsequent transfers for the same participant will incur a $15 administrative fee per incident. No-shows are not eligible for class transfers.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel your class registration, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Account credits are available for cancellations received with more than 24 hours notice. Refunds will be considered only in exceptional circumstances.

No refunds or account credits will be issued for cancellations made less than 24 hours before the class unless we are notified of extenuating circumstances (such as illness, injury, or a family emergency).

No-Show Policy

No refunds or account credits will be provided for no-shows to the class.

A registrant will be classified as a no-show if they fail to attend the class without providing at least 24 hours advance notice before the class start time.
