Our Broadcast Breakthrough program has kicked off its second year, this program teaches students the basics of television lighting, sound, camera work, all while diving into script-writing and interviewing to produce a youth-lead talk show that would air monthly on RogersTV.

Their work culminates in the rehearsing and filming of their monthly show, Not News. We are seeking performers who are available for one hour a week for two weeks, during the program class time to act as the guests for the show. This would be an improvised performance, inspired by that months topic or headline. Performers would need to be available for two consecutive weeks on Thursday from 3:30 to 4:30, rehearsing and recording takes place at the Rogers studio at 4 Mount Bernard Avenue.

Filling out this form will add you to the roster of interested performers and this list will be shared with Gian and the students. They will use it to reach out to and schedule performers each month for their episode.

In rare circumstances and with notice our team may facilitate rehearsal and filming in the same one hour session.

Currently this is a volunteer position, though we are looking into possible compensation for performers.
