GymBC Committee Review and Alignment Project - Survey

Gymnastics BC is undertaking Technical Committee Review and Alignment Project that encompasses the four (4) Technical Committees – Women’s Technical Committee (WTC), Men’s Technical Committee (MTC), Trampoline Gymnastics Technical Committee (TGTC) and Gymnastics for All Committee (GFAC).

GymBC is inviting any individual who would like to contribute their ideas, feedback and suggestions on the Technical Committees to complete this survey. The survey should take 15-20 minutes to complete depending on how much detail you want to add. The survey is being conducting by Sport Law to ensure anonymity and we hope you will provide as much honest feedback as you can.

GymBC has a number of Standing Committees. Included in those Standing Committees are four (4) Technical Committees: Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Technical Committee (WTC), Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Technical Committee (MTC), Trampoline Gymnastics Technical Committee (TGTC), and Gymnastics For All Committee (GFAC). The Technical Committees provide GymBC with the technical expertise and representation to help build strong athlete and sport development for their respective disciplines. Part 4: How Technical Committees are Formed

Individuals are elected to the Technical Committees by a group of their peers at the General Assembly for each gymnastic discipline. In addition, there are GymBC staff that are also appointed to sit on the committee as non-voting members.

Part 5: The Composition of Technical Committees

The composition of each technical committee, although similarities exist, also have some differences.

- WTC is comprised of Chair, Provincial Judging Chair, up to 6 Members at Large with no more than 2 people from any one club; and Gym BC staff liaison.

- MTC is comprised of Chair, Provincial Judging Chair, Provincial Coaching Chair, 1 Athlete Rep and 3 Members at Large; and GymBC staff liaison.

- TGTC is comprised of Chair, Coaching Chair, Judging Chair, Athlete Representative, minimum of 2 members at large, past chair; and GymBC staff liasion

- GFAC is comprised of Chair and up to 15 voting members; and GymBC staff liaison.
