Welcome to the Builders of Tomorrow BC Foundation's application for scholarships and bursaries. We're committed to supporting the educational and career advancement of individuals in the construction industry. This application is open to those who meet the eligibility requirements. Please note that the form does not save your progress as you go. The following awards are available in 2025: 3 scholarships of $1,500 each and 2 bursaries of $1,500 each. The number and value of awards may change over time based on contributions from partners.

Eligibility Requirements:  
1. Applications must be complete and submitted by the published deadline. 
2. Applicants must be between the ages of 17-30. 
3. Applicants must be enrolled in a construction-related program in BC (with proof of enrollment provided to the Foundation as part of the application). 
Applications are open to both public and non-public postsecondary institutions. All institutions must be approved by SkilledTradesBC or another recognized authority within BC to ensure legitimacy and relevance. Any post-secondary institutions other than those recognized by SkilledTradesBC may be considered at the sole discretion of the Foundation Board. These include: o Public Post-Secondary Institutions in BC: Automatically eligible. o Non-Public Post-Secondary Institutions in BC: Eligible on a case-by-case basis, provided the program is related to a construction trade or supports a role deemed relevant by the Foundation within the construction industry. All institutions must be approved by SkilledTradesBC or another recognized authority within BC to ensure legitimacy and relevance. Any post-secondary institutions other than those recognized by SkilledTradesBC may be considered at the sole discretion of the Foundation Board. 
4. Applicants must be seeking scholarships or bursaries for education in construction or related fields, with applications supporting students in construction trades or academics who demonstrate financial need, academic excellence, and potential industry contribution. 
5. Applicants from previous years are welcome to reapply. 

Applicants may apply for either or both scholarships and bursaries. • Scholarship applications require academic transcripts. • Bursary applications require a description of financial need. • If eligible for both, the committee will determine the appropriate award based on all submitted materials. • Payments will be issued directly to recipients by cheque after proof of enrollment is provided. • The Foundation may follow up with recipients periodically to confirm the funds were used as intended.

Note: The bursary program is intended for applicants demonstrating financial need, while the scholarship program rewards academic achievements. Please be sure to fill out either bursary or scholarship-specific questions, there is no need to fill in both unless you are applying to both awards.

The Foundation will select which award may be offered based on a review of all applications received and the best fit for the applicant. No applicant is eligible for more than one award per year. Application Submission & Agreement

I declare that all information provided is true and complete to the best of my knowledge. By signing, you agree to the Terms and Conditions of this award outlined below. Funds will be disbursed directly to the recipient via cheque upon proof of enrollment. Misuse of funds may result in disqualification, legal action, and repayment. Recipients agree to provide updates on how the award supported their education and consent to the use of their name and photo in the Foundation's marketing and social media. 

Terms & Conditions

Don't forget to review the Application Checklist to ensure all required documents are included, as missing information may affect eligibility. Please submit your completed application digitally by May 31. The submission will be received by info@buildersoftomorrowbc.com. These Terms and Conditions apply to applicants of the Builders of Tomorrow BC Foundation Scholarship and Bursary Program and govern the use of awarded funds, confidentiality obligations, and compliance with Foundation policies.

 1. Eligibility 
• Applicants must be between 17 and 30 years old, enrolled or planning to enroll in a construction-related program at a recognized institution in British Columbia, and must submit a complete application by the published deadline. 

2. Confidentiality 
• All personal information provided by applicants, including transcripts and supporting documentation, will be handled in compliance with the Foundation's Privacy Policy and the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). 
• The Foundation reasonably ensures all documentation is stored securely, with access restricted to authorized personnel or board members. 
• Personal information will be retained for an undisclosed period and used only for purposes related to the Foundation’s scholarship and bursary program. 

3. Use of Funds 
• Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit and are intended for educational expenses, including tuition, books, supplies and other related materials. 
• Recipients are required to confirm the use of funds for their intended purposes upon request by the Foundation.
• Bursaries are awarded based on financial need and can cover educational and living expenses, such as rent, utilities, or other related costs. 

4. Fund Disbursement 
• Scholarship and Bursary funds will be disbursed directly to the recipient via cheque, contingent upon receipt of proof of enrollment. 

5. Conditions for Retention of Awards 
• Recipients must stay enrolled in their awarded program. The Foundation may request proof of enrollment and progress. Awards may be reclaimed if the recipient withdraws from the program or misuses the award. 

6. Remedies for Misuse 
• Misuse of funds will result in disqualification and disqualification from future applications and may require repayment. Legal action may be pursued if misuse of funds is confirmed. 

7. Consent 
• By submitting an application, the applicant consents to the use of their name and photo in the Foundation’s marketing materials and social media and agrees to participate in follow-up communications to share how the award supported their education. 

8. Dispute Resolution 
• Any disputes regarding the application or use of funds will be resolved by the Foundation’s Board of Directors, who hold the final authority on eligibility and fund usage. 

9. Agreement 
• By submitting an application, the applicant acknowledges and agrees to these Terms and Conditions.
