Beginner Course
The beginner course is a series of several lessons that allows new players to develop their striking skills and understanding of the game.
The course is intended for players who have previously taken the free introductory course or who have limited experience playing squash. Not sure of your level? Email us at info@squashoutaouais.ca
The beginner course includes 45 minutes (12:45 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.) of theoretical and practical instruction with Maxym Leclair Leclair, our head coach, followed by supervised open play (1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.) to practice your new skills.
Lesson #1
🔸 Practice of parallel forehand and backhand shots
🔸 Practice of cross-court forehand and backhand shots
🔸 Basic movement on the court and returning to the T
Lesson #2
🔸 Practice of volleys
🔸 Practice of lobs
🔸 Movement and shots at the front of the court
Lesson #3
🔸 Movement and shots at the back of the court
🔸 Practice of boasts
🔸 Practice of drop shots
Bonus during open play in Lesson #3
🔸 Introduction to obstruction rules (Stroke, Let & No Let)
🔸 Different game situations (interference, player effort, etc.)
🔸 Playing and refereeing
Two three-lesson sessions offered in the fall (choose the one that suits you best!)
🔸Sunday, September 20 and 27 and October 4, from 12:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.
🔸Sunday November 22nd-29th and December 6th from 12:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.
The cost is $75 + tax and includes the three lessons, access to supervised open play, and equipment rental (racket, goggles, ball).
