Coaches Evaluation Form
Fill this form during or after your shift of observing the new coach.
It MUST be filled out the day of the observation!
8 to 10 = Great tone of voice, we can hear them from across the gym, commanding voice where one can follow along.
6 or 7 = Is good but louder will make for a better class.
Lower than 6= Needs to improve immediately since it is hard to give a class when no one can hear you.
10= 15 minutes early and the class starts on time
9= 10 minutes early and the class starts on time
8= 5 minutes early and the class starts on time
7= 2-3 minutes early and the class starts on time
6= 1 minute early and the class starts on time
5= The class starts 2 minutes late
Goes straight to zero from 5
9 or 10= Prepare the entire class from start to finish with a Plan B, all the equipment was laid out before the start of the class, took a minute to talk to the other coach in order for the skills to be more fluid.
7 or 8= Prepared for the entire class with no plan B, the equipment was there but not laid out, then talk to the other coach about the class.
5 or 6= Did not prepare for the class but knows the structure, does not have any equipment or didn't bother bringing it inside, didn't bother talking to the other coach about the class.
0 to 4= Did not prepare at all and does not know the structure of the class at all
8 to 10= The kids barely had a moment to speak as the explanations for the next game were starting almost immediately, and they used both coaches to have faster transitions from one game to another.
6 to 7= the water breaks were too long, the and the explanations took a bit of time before being given, they were not using both coaches to have better transitions from one game to another.
0 to 5= the coach cares very little if the kids are sitting or playing, the water breaks take forever, there are more water breaks then required.
8 to 10= Greets the kids and the families as they enter the gym, as the kids questions as the other coach is setting up to drill, constantly encourages during drills, gives high-fives the kids on the way out.
6 to 7 = encourages the kids during the drills, but does not say hi to them when and to the gym and they do not ask questions to the kids that are four years old and up when the other coach is setting up the drill.
0 to 5 = very little to no encouragement, does not greet anyone, does not ask any questions the kids during the entire class.
8 to 10 = to demonstrate the skills, for the kids to bend their knees for jumps, for the kids to place their hands at the right place on the steak or the ball, to capture the attention of the kids for them to listen to the story or the explanation of the drill the coach makes sure to include fun sound effects for the kids to be more involved.
6 to 7= Some sound effects but could use more to get the kids attention at key moments such as drills when you really want the kids to understand where to place their hands.
0 to 5 = uses almost no sound effects throughout the class
8 to 10 = uses stories so that the skills last as long as possible, during the drill he uses the story to further captivate the attention of the kids for the skill to last as long as possible
6 to 7 = uses stories so that the skills last as long as possible, but does not keep using that story during the drill
0 to 5 = uses no stories to motivate the kids but don't necessarily like sports to be engaged in the activity
8 to 10 = shows of the class motivated to give a fun and engaging class for everyone, helps to new coaches to grow by giving them feedback, reacts to problems that might arise during classes.
6 to 7 = shows of the class motivated to give a fun and engaging class for everyone, but isn't giving much guidance to the other coach and to the kids as well.
0 to 5 = shows of the class not carrying the other coach is ready or not and isn't a good role model in front of the kids.
10= Has learned the structure of the class and executes it perfectly
6= has not learned the structure properly and the warm-up is too long or too short, the class is ending before it's time, always includes a game at the end because they are not doing every part of the class
0 = has not learned the structure of the class at all
10= The coach is always present to class
8= The coach misses one class per year
6= The coach misses 2 classes per year
4= The coach misses 3-4 classes per year
0= The coach misses more than 4 classes per year
