Youth Beach Volleyball Tournament

Spruce Beach  |  Saturday, June 27  |  Starting at 10:00am

Celebrate the start of summer and kick-off the official opening of Spruce Beach with a competitive 4 vs. 4 Youth Beach Volleyball Tournament!

Please note: Each player must register and have a parent/guardian sign their waiver individually. Games will continue rain or shine. In the event of lightening, games will be suspended and rescheduled.

Tournament Format

  • The Tournament will be divided into 2 divisions: grades 6-8 and grades 9-12. (Players division will be based on the grade the player graduated from in June and not the grade they will be entering in September. Players in the grades 6-8 division will be ineligible to play in the grades 9-12 division.)
  • Each division will be separated into pools.
  • Every team will play against each team in their pool in Round Robin style games.
  • The top teams of each pool will compete in Playoff style games to determine the division winner.
  • All games will be 4 players vs. 4 players.
  • Round Robin games last 25 minutes and are scheduled every 30 minutes to start on the hour and half hour, leaving 5 minutes for the next team to get to the court and be warmed up.
    • e.g. 12:30pm scheduled game begins at 12:30pm sharp and will end at 12:55pm. The next game will begin at 1:00pm sharp.
  • Late penalties will apply if one team is ready at the scheduled time and the other is not:
    • after 5 minutes, 5 points will be awarded to the ready team;
    • after 10 minutes, 10 points will be awarded to the ready team;
    • after 15 minutes, the ready team will be awarded the win.
  • For Round Robin games, the winning team will receive 2 points, the losing team will receive 1 point, and a forfeiting team will receive 0 points (e.g. no-show after 15 minutes, ineligible team members, ineligible female players ratio).
  • In the event of a tie within the Round Robin pool, the ranking will be based on head-to-head play of the tied teams by the ratio of points won/lost during pool play

**Tournament Format may be adjusted depending on registration numbers.
