Promotion is an exceptional measure
It is important to understand that a request for promotion:
- must remain rare,
- must be justified by exceptional reasons,
- is evaluated rigorously,
- and must always place the player's safety at the heart of the decision.
Players authorized for a promotion request:
- For a promotion to U18: a U16 player, born in 2010
- For a promotion to senior: a U18 player, born in 2008
All requests will be carefully analyzed by the Federation so that they are effective for the current season.
Promotion may only be authorized in these two cases:
- For players selected for provincial teams.
- Exceptionally, any request for promotion for another player must be evaluated by a trained, certified coach who is a member of the Federation by filling out the following evaluation form: Qualifying evaluation form for LPR players.
Any request for promotion must be accompanied by the consent form: FRQ Consent Form.
Unacceptable reasons for a promotion request
1) Absence of a team in the player's age category
The fact that a club does not have a team in the player's age category does not constitute a valid reason to request a promotion.
- Expected solution: Agreement between clubs
2) Lack of players in a higher category
The lack of players in the category above d oes not justify promoting a younger player.
- Expected solutions: Recruitment in the relevant age category OR agreement with another club
