Trillium Waldorf Junior Camp Programs 2024

Our Junior Camp Program is for ages 4 - 7 and will be run by experienced Waldorf Teachers and enthusiastic counsellors. Each week will have a fun theme, daily crafts and activities, lots of free play, trips to the woods, and visits to the splash pad. 

All camps run from 9am - 4pm, and before and aftercare is available for an additional cost. 

Cost is $375/week and includes a camp t-shirt.

Dates and themes:

Week 1: June 17th – 21st Nature Explorers

Spend the first week of summer enjoying the beauty of nature. Bird watching, crafts, woodworking, time in nature, frog catching and more await you in this nature themed week!

Week 2: June 24th – 28th Mighty Builders

Woodworking, clay work, forts and more – spend a week building to your heart’s content with fun crafts and activities, along with our usual summer camp fun.

Week 3: July 2nd – 5th Mini Makers (4 days - $325)

This week we will be sewing, finger knitting and making crafts galore! There will also be plenty of time for drawing, playing inside and outside and exploring nature!

Week 4: July 8th – 12th  Gardening

Working in the garden is always fun. We will be growing our own plants, painting pots, making pickles and jam, and more in this gardening week at camp.

Week 5: July 15th – 19th  Painting and Art

Enjoy beautiful Waldorf painting and art this week, with lots of time to make and create masterpieces with paint, clay, crayons and more. Trips to nature and the splash pad, playing outside and lots of fun outside are guaranteed.

Week 6: July 22nd – 26th Nature Art

Create art this week with materials we find in nature, using clay, woodworking, stepping stones and more!

PLEASE NOTE: The camp staff will monitor but cannot administer medication. We can store the medication in a designated area and remind your child to take it according to the written instructions. Staff are not responsible for "missed doses" but will do their best to avoid this situation.  

Medication (including Epi-pens) must be submitted to the Camp Leader in the original container, with the Child's Name on it. 

Anaphylaxis management and the use of epinephrine auto-injections (Epi-pen or Twinject) is a shared responsibility. Practicing emergency drills with your child results in effective emergency response in case of a reaction.

Campers must be mindful of their allergies. Campers should:

  • Carry at least one epinephrine auto-injector, as age appropriate
  • Wear medical identification (Medic Alert Bracelet)
  • Inform staff if he/she suspects a reaction is happening
  • Ensure that asthma is well controlled and managed coming into the environment (indoor/outdoor play)

In case of a camper experiencing a severe, potentially life threatening allergic reaction, staff will administer the epinephrine auto-injector and call 911. For EMS needs, please complete the following:

Is there anything special we should know about your child?


 
 

Sun  Sense

It is recommended that children arrive at day camp with sunscreen on and have sunscreen labelled with your child's name in their backpacks for additional application. Please show your child how to apply sunscreen themselves. If your child does not have any sunscreen available, please indicate whether or not the Camp Leader has authorization to make sunscreen available to them:

Behavioural Contract

Trillium Waldorf Day Camp reserves the right to ask parents to withdraw their child from our Summer Camp Programming if basic behavioural expectations are not met.

Examples: 

  • Verbal or physical abuse against campers or staff;
  • Stealing or other any illegal actions;
  • Behaviour that causes constant distraction for other campers or staff;
  • Constant disregard towards staff's direction or guidance.
