A large portion of Kurt’s success may be attributed to the host of this concert series, Jan Janovsky, who taught him piano for over a decade.  Kurt later completed his studies at the University of Alberta to pursue his career in piano teaching and music composition with works being performed by ensembles such as Bok Brass, UltraViolet, and the Salisbury Composite High School Concert Band.  With a rich background in classical and contemporary music, Kurt teaches a diverse range of subjects including piano, clarinet, music theory, and composition to enthusiastic beginners and advanced students alike.  

Kurt’s dedication to piano performance is evident through his active participation in concerts and festivals for nearly two decades.  In this performance, Kurt will demonstrate the enduring power of Chopin’s most famous Polonaises and Musskorsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, as well as others.
