Join certified instructor Stephanie Byard for Yoga in the Park at Westview Park on June 28 as part of Heritage Days! With sessions for both children and adults, this outdoor wellness event is a great way to get moving, relax, and enjoy nature.

12:00 PM – Kids' Session (Ages 6–12) | 45 minutes
Children will enjoy age-appropriate yoga poses, breathing exercises, mindfulness activities, games, and movement-based learning, all focused on fun, confidence, and body awareness.

1:00 PM – Adult Session (All Ages & Abilities) | 1 hour
Adults and teens are invited to participate in a guided yoga class suitable for all experience levels. Beginner, advanced, and chair yoga adaptations will be offered, with gentle movement, stretching, breathing exercises, and relaxation in a welcoming outdoor setting.

What to Bring: A yoga mat, blanket, or stable chair (for chair yoga), water bottle, sunscreen, comfortable clothing, and any other sun protection you may need, such as a hat or sunglasses.

Please Note:

Mats and chairs are not provided.

The activity takes place outdoors on grass, which may be uneven.

Parents/guardians must remain on-site during the children's session.

Participants should be able to move independently and get up and down from the ground.

Anyone with injuries, medical conditions, or pregnancy-related concerns should consult a healthcare provider before participating.

Participant and/or Parent/Guardian hereby acknowledges that the Participant is voluntarily participating in the Yoga in the Park session led by Stephanie Byard on June 28th, 2026 (the "Event").

Participant and/or Parent/Guardian understands that accidents and injuries can arise out of the Event. Knowing, acknowledging and understanding the risks and in consideration for being permitted to participate in the Event, the Participant and Parent/Guardian hereby waives, releases, and discharges any and all claims for damages for death, personal injury, or property damage which Participant may sustain, or hereafter accrue, against the City of Elliot Lake, its elected and appointed officers, officials, employees, agents, and volunteers (collectively the "City"), and Stephanie Byard, her agents, assigns, and representatives (collectively the "Instructor"), from and against any and all liability arising out of or connected in any way with Participant's participation in the Event, even if such liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the City or the Instructor. It is further understood and agreed that this Agreement is to be binding on the Participant, Parent/Guardian, and their respective heirs and assigns.

The Participant and/or Parent/Guardian hereby grants to the City the right to photograph or video-record Participant during or in connection with the Event, and to use Participant's photographed or video-recorded likeness, and any image, silhouette, or reproduction of the voice or appearance of Participant taken during or in connection with the Event ("Likeness"), for any purpose, including publicity and promotion of the City and its events, and creation or production of materials in any form for such purpose, with no claim of entitlement to any license fee or royalty of any kind from the City. The Participant and/or Parent/Guardian hereby waives any right to the intellectual property of Participant's Likeness. The rights granted by the Participant and/or Parent/Guardian hereunder shall not expire.

Participant and Parent/Guardian further agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the City and the Instructor from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, expenses, costs (including without limitation costs and fees of litigation) of every nature (including, but not limited to, property damage, bodily injury, or death), whether imposed by law or otherwise, sustained or alleged to be sustained by any person or entity, occurring at, arising from, or connected with Participant's participation in the Event, except for such claim, liability, loss, damage, expense, or cost which was caused by the sole negligence or willful misconduct of the City or the Instructor.

Participant and Parent/Guardian further agrees that no oral representations, statements, or inducements apart from this Waiver and Release Agreement have been made by the City, the Instructor, or anyone else with regard to the subject matter of this Waiver and Release Agreement. This Waiver and Release Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and if any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue to be in full force and effect.

The Participant and Parent/Guardian confirms that the Participant is fit to participate in the Event, that any relevant medical conditions have been disclosed to the Instructor prior to the session, and that participation in the Event is at their own risk.
