APPLICATION CLOSES AT MIDNIGHT ON JUNE 20TH
TSG Coaching Responsibilities and Requirements
Gymnastics Saskatchewan will appoint one volunteer coach for the training team and one volunteer coach for the developmental team until July 2026*, with a possible extension based on Saskatchewan’s team selection for World Gymnaestrada 2027. A small honorarium may be available, depending on the final fee structure, which will be determined in collaboration with the selected coaches and Gym Sask staff upon appointment. Travel expenses to training camps and each Gymnaestrada event will be covered. Additional coaches may be brought on if participation numbers allow.
Coaches will be responsible to:
- Oversee the development of their assigned team, including number of athletes, and creation of the routine/performance (whether outsourced choreography or choreography by themselves)
- Create the initial selection/commitment criteria to be used to select athletes for the team.
- Create a training schedule and training plan for the year, including integration of Sport Science.
- Assist Gym Sask in creating budgets for the year.
- Create follow-up reports following each training camp/event.
- Behave according to the Gym Sask code of conduct and safe sport policies.
- Manage admin tasks and communication in conjunction with Gym Sask staff and appointed team managers.
- Work with the other streams to ensure program consistency and efficiency.
- Act as a chaperone for the team during each event.
Coaches may also participate in the choreography, provided that their coaching responsibilities take priority both during training and at each Gymnaestrada event.
Requirements:
- Training Team = NCCP Level 2/Comp 1 trained.
- Developmental Team = Gymnastics Foundations Certified or equivalent in a relevant field
- Experience in Gymnaestrada is an asset, but not required.
