CALL FOR NOMINATIONS - Volleyball Manitoba 

Position: Board of Directors Member

Dear Members and Supporters, 

Volleyball Manitoba is excited to announce the call for nominations for our Board of Directors. This is a fantastic opportunity for dedicated individuals to contribute their expertise and passion to help guide our organization in fulfilling its mission and achieving its goals. 

Eligibility Criteria: 

• To be eligible to serve as a Director, an individual must:
• Be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
• Not be an employee of Volleyball Manitoba until at least one (1) year has passed since their employment ceased with Volleyball Manitoba.  
• Have the power under law to contract.
• Have not been declared incapable by a court in Canada or in another country; and 
• Not have the current status of bankrupt.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of Volleyball Manitoba.
• Relevant experience and skills that can contribute to the governance and strategic direction of the organization.
• Ability to commit the necessary time for board meetings, committee work, and organizational events.

Responsibilities of Board Members: 

• Attend regular board meetings (minimum of four/year).
• Actively participate in board discussions and decision-making processes.
• Serve on at least one committee and participate in committee meetings.
• Support fundraising and development activities.
• Represent Volleyball Manitoba at events/awards presentations and in the community.
• Provide strategic guidance and oversight to ensure the organization’s sustainability and growth.

Selection Process:

All nominations will be reviewed by the Nominations Committee. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview. The final slate of candidates will be presented at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) for election by the membership.

Nomination Deadline: Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

Shortlisted Candidate Interviews: TBD – mid-August

Annual General Meeting: Tuesday, September 2, 2025
