Hello Graham Academy Families welcome to our October Update Newsletter! 

First, a reminder that we have set up a GA Family Resource Page on our website. This will be home to all the links we are listing below. If you have any questions or feel that there is something that should be added to this page please feel free to let us know. We have also added a new button to this page called "GA Newsletter Archive) where we will upload links to past newsletters to make it easier for you to go back and mind information from our newsletters.

Auditions (Showstoppers, Junior Ensemble, Senior Company)

Audition week will be Nov 9-10 (Showstoppers, Junior Ensemble, Senior Company) this will be auditions for both the community musical and their Spring Shows and will happen during their regular class time. Junior Ensemble and Senior Company will need to prepare two songs (32 bar cut), students can check Theatre Trip or Musical Theatre Resources for song suggestions. This  will continue to be discussed in class and faculty are available if there are any questions.

Class Reminders

Students should make sure they bring everything they need to their weekly sessions and studio lessons. We wanted to send a reminder of some things we have noticed students not bringing to class.

• Indoor Shoes, 
• Water bottle, 
• Binder/folder for sheet music, 
• pencil for marking in sheet music, 
• hair tie or something to keep hair out of face while dancing. 
• Students will have begun to receive print outs of their music, and will eventually receive their scripts. Student must bring these materials with them to each class.

Reminder as well that if your student is going to be absent from class to please let us know by emailing so that faculty can adjust their planning

Graham Academy Halloween Special 2026

We will once again be creating a Halloween Special video with material filmed in class. Please see below costume notes for each group. If you have any trouble sourcing items for your student please let us know. Students should wear or bring their costumes to the specified filming date.

Jr. Broadway: Alien Invasion (Zombies 3)

Zombies (Madisyn, Kate & Sadie) Please bring your green dresses, if you have ripped up tights that would be great and sneakers

Aliens (Lyla, Maddie & Gwen) Please bring sunglasses, black pants, black shirt

Filming- October 26th during class time.
 

Sr Broadway: Cabaret Aspirateur (The Triplets of Belleville)

Ghosts- any era specific costume (think decades) and dark makeup.  We will be using a filter over top of this video so please don’t worry about any bright colours, they will be dampened by the filter!

Moonbeams - Spooky Scary Skeletons

Ghostbusters (Avie, Andi, Zoe, Claire, Rory, Ainsley, Charlotte, Zahara, Addison)- black shirt and jeans

Ghosts (All other students not listed above are ghosts)- bright coloured top (any colour) black pants

Filming- October 28th in class time.

Showstoppers - Ghostbusters (Ray Parker Jr.)

Costume:  Black & White (Skeleton costume if possible/if you own)

Filming- October 28th in class time.

Jr. Ensemble: Goo Goo Muck (The Cramps)

Costume- All Black

Filming - October 28th in class time.

Senior Company

Costume- All Black

Filming - October 27th in class time.

Ghost Train Haunted Walk

We will be holding a Ghost Train Haunted walk on the Newfie Bullet at the Historic Train Site on Riverside Drive. Admission is a suggested donation of $5.

October 29th 7-9 PM

October 30th 7-10PM

October 31st - Sensory Friendly Walk - 1030-1130 AM

Anybody wanting to volunteer in decorating (taking place on October 23), donating decorations, or performing, please contact Ian via email to ianlocke@camberarts.ca

Print to Order Merch and on hand items

Finally a reminder that we now have a new print to order, merch store, you can check out all of our offerings by clicking this link. Items are printed and distributed directly by TShirt Elephant. These make great Christmas presents and ship right to your door! We are still just beginning with this new shop so if there is an item you are looking for that is not being offered please reach out to merhc@camberarts.ca and we will see if a new item listing is possible.
