Visit the swap Sept 11-13 to pick up clothing for yourself or your family.

If you have clothing, accessories (belts, jewelry, scarves) or shoes that you are not using, bring them to the Canmore Public Library Sept 5-13. 

You do not need to bring in clothing to pick something up. Everything is FREE! 

Alberta has introduced a new integrated health care card. For eligible Albertans, the new card combines an Alberta driver’s licence or Alberta identification card with a Personal Health Number (PHN). 

If you already have a paper health card, it remains valid until July 2, 2031. You do not need to replace it right away. Your existing coverage continues as long as you remain eligible for the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP). 

Expiry dates apply to health cards issued on or after July 2, 2026. If get or renew your driver's licence, your new licence will be integrated with your health card and both cards will have the same expiry date. 

Make sure your mailing address is accurate and current so you receive notices about any expiring cards or other important government information.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a day to honour Residential School Survivors, their families, and their communities. It is also a time to remember the children who did not return home from residential schools.

Residential schools were government-funded schools that separated many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit children from their families, languages, cultures, and communities. The harm caused by this system continues to affect Survivors, families, and Indigenous communities today.

On September 30, people across Canada are encouraged to wear orange as a sign of respect and remembrance. The day is also an opportunity to learn, listen, and reflect on how we can support truth, healing, and reconciliation.

Mentorship for Rural Immigrants is open to PRs, Refugees, and Canadian Citizens born outside of Canada. 

Work with a mentor to learn more about:

• Canadian culture in the workplace
• communication and soft skills
• digital literacy
• career and employment strategies
• teamwork, collaboration, and problem solving
• community connections

Did you know that the Canada Strong pass makes admission to Parks Canada attractions, historic sites, museums, and parks FREE until September 7?

You don't need a physical pass. Admission is just FREE!

Local places to visit include Cave & Basin National Historic Site, Banff Park Museum, and all the beautiful spaces in Banff National Park!

This event is free and all are welcome.

September activities include designing a one-of-a-kind reusable lunch box or crafting a reusable bag to carry your swimsuit. 

This free event welcomes children (ages 5-13) with developmental disabilities, along with their friends, and families. 

Enjoy live music, face painting, games, and prizes! You can also learn about supports available to you and your family.
