2024 Pan American Championships - Trampoline Results

The 2024 Pan Am Championships - Trampoline - took place May 17-19, 2024 in Lima, Peru.

Gymnastics BC is thrilled to announce that Brooklyn Lee McMeeken from Club Aviva won Gold in Junior Women's Double Mini Trampoline and placed 4th in Junior Women's Trampoline. A huge congratulations to Brooklyn and her coach Jake Maxim on these incredible results!

Remembering Doug Odin

Gymnastics BC is saddened to hear of the passing of Doug Odin. 

Doug was not only a coach, friend, and mentor in our community, but also a longtime GymBC Member and the recipient of our Member of Distinction Award in 2004. Doug had been coaching primarily WAG athletes since 1971, and worked at many lower mainland clubs, including Langley Gymnastics, Flip City, Vancouver Phoenix and Omega.  

Our thoughts go out to Doug's family, friends and community during this difficult time.  He will be missed, but never forgotten. 

Sport BC - Community Sport Hero Award - Maple Ridge

Sport BC is relaunching the Community Sport Hero Award (CSHA) program which recognizes coaches, officials, mentors and administrators that have dedicated themselves to amateur sport in their communities.  

At this time, nominees are being accepted for Maple Ridge only. Submission criteria and the nomination form can be found here. 

Deadline to submit a nomination: June 6 at 5pm. 

Regional Sport Philanthropy and Financial Literacy Workshop

Sport BC, Pacific Sport Fraser Valley and Whistler Sport Legacy are offering a workshop on June 15, 2024. 

This workshop is designed for Not-for-profit, Executive Directors, Managers, Board Presidents or Treasurers and will speak to philanthropy and fundraising, sources of support, planning and implementation, power of collaboration and impactful storytelling.

The Canadian Championships are set to take place in Gatineau, QC from Jun 5-9, 2024.

This is a reminder that the submission deadline for final round of bidding for 2024-25 GymBC Sanctioned Events is May 31, 2024.
