RE: 2026 Town Hall Meeting

Gymnastics Saskatchewan Town Hall Meeting – Thursday, November 12th, 2026

Please join the Gymnastics Saskatchewan Board of Directors and staff in-person or online for a Fall 2026 Town Hall meeting. This session will provide an opportunity to discuss several topics and explore the broader forces currently shaping our sport organization and their implications for GymSask and gymnastics throughout Saskatchewan.

The current landscape our organization operates within is rapidly evolving and becoming increasingly complex. Around the world, across Canada, and here in Saskatchewan, funding models and accountability expectations are also changing. This is no different for Gymnastics Saskatchewan, where factors such as insurance premiums, funding requirements, and decreasing revenue are creating both challenges and opportunities.

Our upcoming town hall will connect these broader trends to what they mean for the future of our organization and our membership. In alignment with the Gymnastics Canada Board of Directors' recent bylaw amendments, we will also reflect on the Board’s recent work updating the organization’s policies and bylaws, bringing them up to standards set by the Canadian Sport Governance Code, which lays out the appropriate direction for sport governing bodies.

Attending the Town Hall as a guest speaker and moderator, Paul Varian will help build clarity into the world of modern sport governance. These changes will be brought forth at the AGM and most practically throughout the 2027-28 operational year. We may also have time to have to review the current budget and explain the impact how the decrease in membership numbers and the cost of insurance have impacted the operational side of GymSask. With these current realities, the GymSask Board of Directors and staff are reviewing how best to support the day-to-day operations, while also enabling strategic investments in areas such as athlete, coach, judge, and club support, recruitment of members, insurance, grass roots development, high performance initiatives, grant funding, and other organizational priorities.

If you want to better understand the operations of GymSask, this is a conversation you won’t want to miss. Attendees are asked to register in advance and submit any questions through the advanced registration link below. Your submissions will help bring clarity and help shape the discussion. A connection to a livestream of the town hall will be emailed to all registered participants to view the event online.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff, I hope to see you all on Nov. 12th!
