Sport BC Athlete of the Year Finalists Announced

Sport BC has announced the finalists for the 56th Annual Sport BC Athlete of the Year Awards Event. GymBC is thrilled to announce that the selected finalists from Gymnastics BC are:

• Gavin Dodd - Finalist for Junior Male Athlete of the Year
• Gabby Flynn - Finalist for Senior Female Athlete of the Year

Safe Sport/Compliance Pilot

GymCan is looking for people to take part in a Safe sport/Compliance Pilot project. Click here to participate.

The cost to participate is free, however a $25 backcheck fee still applies. 

Changes to Policy Regarding Sanction Requests for Events Outside of Canada

GymCan has announced that as of February 1, clubs, individuals, and Provincial/Territorial Organizations (PTO’s) no longer need to submit an authorization form to GymCan for travel outside of Canada. The PTO's have agreed to handle these requests directly. 

The Request for Sanction for Competition Travel form is available on our website. On February 1, it will be updated to reflect these changes made by GymCan. All clubs wishing to travel outside of BC must fill out the form to request sanctioning from GymBC. 

Bystander Intervention in Sport Training Sessions

Right to Be’s Bystander Intervention in Sport sessions are coming up! The training is a great tool to gain practical skills to prevent harm in your sport. This opportunity is open to everyone, including officials, coaches, parents, and athletes at club and provincial level.

2024 BC Gymnaestrada Registration Deadline

The first registration deadline for the 2024 BC Gymnaestrada event is coming up quickly on February 2, 2024! If you are interested in bringing your club to this prestigious recreational gymnastics event, please register here! We would love to have you!

2024 BC Championships & Xcel Challenge - Accommodations and Registration

Both host hotels for the 2024 WAG Optional, MAG, and TG Gymnastics BC Championships event have been announced. Furthermore, registration is now open for all events. Full details on how to book is available in the first Workplan on the events page.

BC Championships and Gymnaestrada Bidding 

The deadline for submitting bids to host the 2026 and 2027 BC Championships and Xcel Challenge, as well as the 2025 and 2026 BC Gymnaestrada events, is NEXT WEEK, on January 31, 2024. Take advantage of this opportunity to be part of these prestigious events and showcase your hosting capabilities!

Friendly & Training Camp with Shanghai University of Sport

A friendly competition and training camp is being hosted by Inspire Sports Victoria! Athletes will be visiting from the Shanghai University of Sport on March 3rd & 4th, 2024 (around the time of the Inspire Cup in Victoria).
