Competitive Category Registration Deadline: March 1, 2025

The 2025 Competitive Category Registration Deadline is this Saturday, March 1, 2025. Ensure your athletes are registered on time and ready for the season. After March 1 whatever category/level your athletes are registered as in Uplifter, is the category/level they must compete in until after BC Championships.

Sport Package Announced for the 2026 BC Winter Games

The BC Games Society has officially announced the sport package for the 2026 BC Winter Games in Trail/Rossland, outlining the sports that will be featured at the event. This marks an exciting milestone for athletes across the province as they prepare to compete at one of BC’s premier multi-sport events.

"The BC Winter Games are a vital step in the development pathway for Gymnastics BC athletes, coaches, and officials," says Thorstein Fischer, GymBC MAG Program Manager and BC Games Provincial Advisor. "For many, it’s their first experience traveling and competing as part of a regional zone team, an opportunity that is rare in our sport."

GymBC is excited to announce new Comp 3 WAG & MAG Courses have been added to the Education Calendar.  

• MAG - Sunday, June 29, 2025 - Delta, BC
• Common Apparatus - Monday, June 30 - Tuesday, July 1, 2025 - Pitt Meadows, BC
• WAG - Wednesday, July 2, 2025 - Pitt Meadows, BC

Bystander Intervention in Sport

Knowing how to safely step in when you witness harmful behaviour can make a big difference in creating a safer sport environment. viaSport offers a free Bystander Intervention in Sport course on March 27, 2025, to help you gain the skills to take action effectively.

WAG NEWS UPDATE 

There has been a large amount of requests for L1-2 AA scores to be released for qualifications to BC Champs. Per the BC Charts, a Silver AA is 32. Therefore, if your athlete(s) received a Silver or Gold AA, they are qualified. GymBC doesn't need the exact score for registration purposes.

Canucks Autism Network Train it and Try it! 

GymBC has partnered with Canucks Autism Network to provide a Train It and Try It Workshop. Participants who join are eligible for PD points!

What to Expect: a 5.5-hour interactive session designed to equip coaches with the skills and resources needed to support neurodivergent athletes.

• Train It Session: Learn how to structure classes, create schedules, and expand your coaching toolkit with practical strategies for working with neurodivergent athletes.
• Try It Session: Put your learning into action! Set up stations and apply your skills while working directly with CAN participants.

GymCan is collaborating with Working with Parents in Sport (WWPIS) on an exciting new initiative to support parents of youth gymnasts (ages 12-15) through a webinar series and exclusive online resources. Topics will include athlete-coach communication, supporting your athlete, and building positive relationships with coaches and clubs.
