As we head into the summer months, the GymBC Weekly will be issued every second week. The next issue of the GymBC Weekly will be on June 22, 2023.

Positive Space in Sport - Pride Month

GymBC Old Course Registration Platform (For Courses Prior to September 2022)

Prior to GymBC’s use of Activity Messenger for our online calendar and event registrations in 2022 (i.e. coaching and judging course registrations etc.) we had a different calendar and online registration system, available here. Effective July 1, 2023, the old GymBC registration system will be decommissioned.

If there are any old course receipts that you would like to keep a record of, please login to retrieve them no later than June 30th as access will be unavailable after that time.

If you have any outstanding refunds, credits, or inconsistencies in the NCCP Locker, for courses that took place prior to September 2022, please contact coaching@gymbc.org. After June 30th, we will be much more limited in our ability to assist you.

Details regarding venue and ticket information, coming soon! The forms for the GFA and GymBC Awards Nominations as well as the Scholarship Application can be found on the events page here. The deadline for completing and submitting applications is July 14, 2023. 

2023 WAG Annual Judges Meeting

When? Monday July 3rd at 7:00pm via Zoom.

A link to register will be sent out in the next GymBC Weekly on Thursday June 22nd.

There will be an election for WJC Chair, please submit nominations to judging@gymbc.org by June 26th.

All questions can be directed to your zone judging chair.

TG Western Canada Cup Team Final All Around Trophy returns to BC.

Team BC athletes showed some outstanding results in Edmonton this past weekend sweeping the podium in all three events in the Level 3/4 Team Final event. Full results, can be found here. 

In addition to the 12-member Team BC, 95 club athletes, representing 11 clubs from across the province collectively earned 58 individual medals, including 22 Gold, 19 Silver and 17 Bronze.

In the Level 1/2 Team Final event, Kelowna Gymnastix athletes also rose to the top of the podium to finish first all around.

Finishing in the top 10 in the individual All Around were:

• Serena Hughes (Team BC) – 5^th
• Aaron McLeod (Team BC) – 6^th
• Kella Bessadi (Club Aviva) – 8^th
• Kira MacDougall (Club Aviva) – 9^th

This event also served as the last opportunity for Level 4 athletes to qualify for Canadian Championships. Congratulation to everyone who achieved mobility and will be heading back to Edmonton in July. Congratulations to all the Western Canada Cup Champions, and thank you to the coaches, judges, chaperones, and supporters!
