2022 Awards and Scholarship Nominations Mark your calendars - the 2022 GymBC Awards & Scholarship Night will be held in conjunction with our AGM. The event is scheduled to take place over the weekend of October 22-23. We are currently accepting nominations and applications for the following: 1) GymBC Awards: This is your opportunity to nominate a deserving individual, group or club in your community! Example nominations for GymBC Awards include GFA Awards (ex. Coaches of the Year and Volunteer of the Year), as well as Life Members and Members of Distinction. Nominations can be submitted by anyone in our GymBC community, whether it be an athlete, parent, coach or club administrator. 2) GymBC Scholarships: Calling all athletes aspiring to attend (or currently attending) a post-secondary institution! GymBC is pleased to offer financial assistance to a selected number of student athletes in our community each year. Please click on the link below for further information, including eligibility criteria and a list of required documents. New Membership Season in Uplifter: 2022-23 GymBC aims to have the 2022-23 Uplifter membership season categories ready by the last week of July. The 2022-23 Membership SKU list will be distributed as soon as possible to help clubs get ready for the new season. As a reminder, individual membership fees for 2022-23 will remain the same as they were for the past two years. The full membership fee list is available on our website. Canada Winter Games Leotard Design Contest! GymBC is excited to launch a summer leotard design contest for our WAG team! The team will be traveling to the 2023 Canada Winter Games (CWG) in Prince Edward Island. The contest will be open until August 6, 2022. The top submissions will be revealed on our Instagram channel, and a winner picked by CWG hopefuls in September. For full contest details and to download the design template, visit the GymBC website.

As part of viaSport's Safe Sport workshop series, they are hosting a session on July 14 from 1pm-2pm with the Office of the BC Ombudsperson, focusing on responding to complaints in a sport environment. This session is open to anyone looking to learn more, but is especially useful for organizational staff, leaders and board members.
Registration is now open and a pre-reading of the BC Ombudsperson's Complaint Handling Guide is highly encouraged. Submit any questions you have here prior to the workshop.

Canadian WAG Team Selected for 2022 Pan American Championships Following the completion of the athlete confirmation stage and appeal period, Gymnastics Canada has confirmed the athletes and coaches selected for the 2022 Pan American Championships. Gymnastics BC is proud to announce that Shallon Olsen (Flicka) and Sydney Turner (TAG) have been named to the Senior Team. Dorina Stan will be joining the delegation as one of two Senior Team coaches. Congratulations! The 2022 Senior Pan Am Championships will take place in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil from July 15-17, 2022. An official announcement from Gymnastics Canada will be released later this week.

BC TG Athletes Named to 2022 World Games The four gymnasts who will represent Canada at the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, USA during the double-mini trampoline (DMT) and tumbling events have been announced. Canada will have four gymnasts participating in the 2022 World Games from July 15 to 18 in Birmingham, USA. Of these four, Gabby Flynn (Shasta) has been selected for DMT, and Taylor Pillinger (VIP) for Tumbling. Coach Curt DeWolff will be joining the delegation as the DMT coach. Congratulations to all three BC athletes and coaches! The World Games is an international multi-sport competition held every four years in the year following the Summer Olympic Games. This year, more than 3,600 athletes from more than 30 different sports will compete in Alabama. To catch all the action, follow @twg2022 on social media. HP TG Whistler Camp - August 2022 The Trampoline Technical Committee is happy to bring back the athletes HP camp after a two-year break. Two camps are being offered for national stream athletes. WAG CCP and TG Training Camp KGTC (Kamloops) is running a joint training camp for new or current CCP Level 6 & 7, and TG Level 3 & 4 (or minimum back 1/1); exceptions for L5 may be made. MAG Program Retreat & Assembly The MAG Program Retreat and Assembly will be held from August 12-14, 2022 in Whistler, BC. Accommodations are provided at the Whistler Athlete’s Centre.
