Notice Of Bereavement: Stan Wilkes It is with deep regret that we inform you of the death of Stan Wilkes.
Stan was an integral member of the Men’s gymnastic community from the early 1970s until his retirement from the sport in the late 1980s. This is why we honour his legacy at the GymBC Awards and Scholarships every year. He was a leader in the B.C. men’s artistic gymnastics program among athletes at the provincial and national levels. He also helped to shape B.C.’s men’s artistic gymnastics system and its committee organization. Stan devoted his life’s work to bettering our sport and acting in the best interest of our Gymnastics BC community. On behalf of Gymnastics BC, we send our condolences to his loved ones during this difficult time. |

GymBC Staff Updates Administration and Communications:
Administration & Communications Coordinator, Megan McDermott, is heading back to her home in Ireland. GymBC is grateful for the many contributions and positive relationships Megan has made during her time with GymBC and wish her the very best of success in her future endeavors. Megan’s final day will be March 24. This departure means we will look to hire a Communications Coordinator as a paid internship position on a PT basis until November when Keara Urquhart is expected to return from her parental leave. Business Development, GFA, Administration & Events:
Leanne James, Business Development & Events Manager, will be departing on parental leave starting in late April. GymBC has reorganized GFA responsibilities to rest with GFA Coordinator, Bobby Kriangkum which allows for Aidan Muth to transition to the role of Administration & Event Coordinator. Aidan will still maintain a strong connection with GFA as he continues to lead Gymnaestrada planning and delivery with 2023 hosts, White Rock Gymnastics Club. Aidan started his new duties on March 1. Sport Safety Officer:

This hub linked below, provides the tools and information to overcome stigma and guide conversations about mental health. This free online portal offers training and resources for coaches to develop mental health literacy and positive coaching practices to improve performance and well-being in sport.
