RE: Target Group Grant

Regina, SK — May 2026 — Gymnastics Saskatchewan is proud to support the launch of Warrior Athletics’ upcoming Youth Gymnastics Program in Regina through the annual Target Group Grant initiative, funded in partnership with Saskatchewan Lotteries.

The Target Group Grant provides funding to organizations working with under-represented populations to help connect participants with gymnastics programming in their communities. Through this initiative, Gymnastics Saskatchewan continues to invest in reducing barriers to participation and creating more inclusive opportunities for children and youth across the province.

Beginning May 5, 2026, Warrior Athletics began offering accessible gymnastics programming for children and youth ages 6–16 at Gymnastics Adventure in Regina. The program is designed to create a welcoming and supportive environment where participants can build confidence, develop physical literacy, and experience the joy of movement regardless of previous experience.

The program includes foundational gymnastics instruction focused on coordination, flexibility, strength, teamwork, confidence-building, and the development of fundamental movement skills in a culturally welcoming environment led by Indigenous women.

Gymnastics Saskatchewan would also like to recognize and thank Chelsa Racette for spearheading the program and leading its coaching and delivery within the community, as well as Ben Davidge, GymSask Coordinator of Movement, Inclusion and Outreach, for his work facilitating the partnership and grant support.

In addition to this grant, Gymnastics Saskatchewan continues to explore innovative ways to support participation and physical literacy across the province through initiatives such as the SPARK Ideas Grant. Focused on increasing access to movement opportunities and developing fundamental movement skills for children and youth,  the organization recently surpassed a milestone of more than 1,000 participants engaged in Saskatoon between October 2025 and May 2026.
