viaSport Takes Steps To Make Amatuer Sport Safer

The Province is providing $7.8 million in response to commitments made to federal and provincial partners to address safe-sport challenges. The independent process will help create an effective, fair and consistent mechanism to report and respond to complaints. To read more, find viaSport's recent news post, here!

Membership Reminder

The GymBC fiscal (and insurance) year-end is June 30. Please be sure to submit any spring members or members that began their programming in June that you haven’t yet sent to GymBC, as soon as possible and preferably before or by June 30th. For any members submitted after June 30th, GymBC will be charged the new insurance premium rates (which we don’t have quite yet, we’re still waiting on our insurance renewal information for the new year!) and we’d prefer to pay the 2022-23 premium rates for those members.

The 2023-24 Member Club Renewal form will be available soon, as will the annual Registration Handbook and the new season in Uplifter. Stay tuned!

2023 WAG Retreat - Thank You!

Thank you to those who attended the WAG Program Retreat in Whistler over the past few days! It was evident that a recurring sentiment shared by all present at the Retreat was the continued teamwork and collaboration exhibited by athletes, coaches, judges and support staff throughout the season. May you all enjoy a fun and restorative summer!

2023-24 Sanctioning Calendar Draft Sent Out

A copy of the 2023-2024 GymBC Sanctioned Events Calendar has been sent out. If you submitted a sanctioned event request form and have not recieved an email, please email events@gymbc.org.

GymBC Awards Nominations and Scholarships Applications 

The 2023 GymBC Awards and Scholarships event is taking place Saturday October 14, 2023 (venue TBA soon)! 

The forms for the GFA and GymBC Awards Nominations as well as the Scholarship Application can be found on the events page here. The deadline for completing and submitting scholarship applications and award nominations is July 14, 2023. 

TG 2023 Canadian Championships Team Announcement

On behalf of the TG Technical Committee, we are thrilled to announce the team of athletes, coaches, judges and staff attending the 2023 TG Canadian Championships. Click here to view our latest news post, including the full team announcement!

The event will take place at the Universiade Pavilion, University of Alberta from July 18-23. All results will be posted on the Sportzsoft website or on the Sportzsoft App.

2023 MAG Retreat & Assembly

The men's program will be holding their annual retreat and assembly this year in Whistler, BC at the Whistler Athletes' Centre from 18-20 August 2023. Meetings will take place in the Performance Hub, directly beside the Whistler Athletes' Centre accommodations. This retreat and assembly is open to any member of Gymnastics BC; e.g., club admins, coaches, judges, athletes, etc. For the assembly, only one voting delegate from each Gymnastics BC member club will have a vote.

2023 WAG Annual Judges Meeting

The 2023 WAG Annual Judges Meeting will take place Monday July 3rd at 7:00pm via Zoom. Please visit this link to register. An agenda and zoom link to the meeting will be sent via email 5 days prior to the meeting to those registered.

There will be an election for WJC Chair, please submit nominations to judging@gymbc.org by June 26th. As stated in the Judges Handbook, proxy voting is not permitted.

All questions can be directed to your zone judging chair.
