Over 110 AGF members from 29 member clubs participated in the 2024 Annual General Meeting weekend in Edmonton. It was great to see everyone in attendance. From assembly meetings, to sessions on Sport Safety, Insurance, and Board to Board, as well as the Town Hall, the weekend provided a wealth of knowledge, whether that be new information for attendees or simply a reminder of what is offered. The AGF staff and board truly appreciate this chance to reconnect and discuss our Federation and sport. For more information regarding the 2024 AGM and Awards Gala, please refer to this recap.

MAG Athletes at the 2024 Awards Gala MAG NewsOur MAG athletes are having a great start to the year with training camps, galas, and travel preparations. Thank you to everyone who attended our AGM weekend and Gala night. It was so great to see everyone dressed up and celebrating! On September 30th, our provincial Level 1-3 athletes and coaches attended a packed training camp at Gymtastics in Calgary with over 90 athletes and 20 coaches. Our athletes had the gym to themselves as they had a special lesson on loosening up through dance choreography presented by Challen Haverstock. They also strengthened their pommel skills by learning new wrist strength techniques. Thank you, Challen and Damien Cachia, the mobility presenter! Next time is a trip up north. Our next training camp will be November 11th at Aerials Gymnastics in Spruce Grove for Levels Provincial 4 to Senior. Do you need more information? Contact Mo at MAG@abgym.ab.ca. AGF and the Provincial and Territorial Gymnastics Sports organizations across Canada are pleased to announce the launch of SafeSport Gym Education.
SafeSport Gym Education is a collection of gymnastics organizations from across the country who worked hard to create documentary-style videos to share what safe sport means from real people, completely unscripted from real athletes, real coaches and real parents.
This is a collection of moments, feelings, and stories to educate us all.
Visit SafeSportGymEducation.org to view videos for all ages and for all people involved in our sport, in both official languages. You will also find Activity Books, Colouring Pages, and fact sheets about each video!
Feel free to browse and share and stay safe, because Safe Sport is Everyone's Responsibility.

A Word from Finance and Membership π΅π°π² We all had such a great time meeting with the clubs at the AGM Weekend in Edmonton, and I want to express my appreciation for the kind words regarding the Financial presentation I gave at the Town Hall. I don't know about you, but for me it's always fun to talk numbers, the state of the Alberta economy, and what's coming next. πππ² It's my time to shine!
That being said, I have to give a big shout-out to all of our staff for their incredible hard work behind the scenes to get the AGM and Gala night running as smoothly as it did. From the planning and organizing, to the content and video creation, to the assembly meetings, and to Roland who did his thing at the Gala; everyone is an absolute all-star. Also, thanks to the staff at the Delta Edmonton South for their hospitality and accommodations. Your cheque is in the mail! Now we can all start anew and get ready for Congress next year. As such, the 2024-2025 season marches onwards as we are in full swing in membership. Session 2, which started Sept 1st, comes to an end next week with all registrations due in by November 15th. Put that in your calendars as it's especially important to ensure that all of your athletes/coaches hold AGF memberships and insurance, with WAG/MAG/TG camps all coming up during the next few weeks. Early submission is definitely welcome too, I know it's always good to get this off your plate so you can focus on the fun stuff! So far, membership numbers have been quite strong, at last check we had just passed 23,000 members which exceeds where AGF was last season. An exciting Olympic Games most definitely contributed to that, and I am excited to see how high we can go. As always, if you have trouble with Uplifter, or want to double-check your registration status, feel free to reach me at membership@abgym.ab.ca. Otherwise, have a great autumn, everyone. The NBA season just started, so go Raps! See you next month.

Jacinda - Reeseβs peanut butter cups are a must! As for traditions, I love watching all the scary movies, making costumes, and creating spooky photoshoots! π₯π»πΈ Keevin - As my family and friends would know, I do not like anything scary but I enjoy traditions like carving pumpkins; and my favourite candy is definitely chocolate....except the Coffee Crisps (but luckily my roommate eats all those from the big box) ππ« Craig - Hands down the best houses are the people that give out bags of Doritos. And it has to be Cool Ranch! π»ππ Haleigh - Anything Reese's! π₯π Mo - Honestly, I just enjoy the autumn on its own but Iβm especially a chocolate lover at Halloween π« Carolyn - My weakness is the mini Twix bars! And my favourite thing to do on Halloween is go trick or treating with my kids! π¬π Kate - Candy Corn Pumpkins π Robin - I like when people hand out toothbrushes β¦ just kidding Trick! π I either liked getting small bags of chips or TWIX bars β¦ yummy! And hopefully NO black licorice!!! π¬ Jacqueline - My favourite candy growing up was candy corn and I am happy it is back. What I loved about Halloween was seeing my kids all dressed up, and how cute they looked. π»π¬π«π Roland the Monkey - Anything banana-flavoured! ππ
