You do not have to be a member of Key West Swim and Tennis Club to enroll in swim lessons. 

‼️ Semi-Private Swim Lessons ‼️ 
Semi-private swim lessons are for two participants. This is a good option for siblings or friends that have similar skill levels. Participants must be at or near the same skill level to enroll in semi-private swim lessons.

Ages that pair well together are dependent on fine motor skill development. Progress will be hindered if swimmers are paired inappropriately. Ages that pair well together are 2-3 years old, 4-6 years old, 6-8 years old, and 8-12 years old.

Member Discounts

• Key West Members will receive a $5 discount per drop in private class. Send us your membership verification prior to registering to receive a discount code.
• Families/households that are enrolling more than 2 children in private lessons, will receive a $15 discount for each additional child starting with the third child. Reach out to us prior to enrolling to receive a discount code.

Clients may not share discount codes with anyone. Sharing your discount code will result is dismissal from the program.

The address to Key West is 393 Key W Dr. Charlottesville, VA 22911. 

You will park at the main lower lot and then walk up the sidewalk to find the pool (not stroller-friendly). If you need handicapped parking, follow the sign to the top of the lot where you will find accessible parking.

Facility Policies for Non-Members

We are grateful to our hosts for renting us space at their membership-based facility this spring and summer. Our hosts have asked us to share a few reminders when visiting the facility. We would like to maintain a positive relationship with our hosts, so please read the following information carefully.

• When you arrive, please check in at the desk area and let the facility attendant/lifeguard know that you are there for swim lessons with CVSS.
• Please try to limit your on-deck guests to one parent or guardian. Not only can a hovering parent be a distraction to the child during lessons, but deck space is also very limited at Key West.
• If you need to bring siblings not enrolled in swim lessons with you, please be prepared by bringing an activity for them. Key West management has okayed young siblings (4 and under) to use the baby pool area with active parent supervision.
• Parents and caregivers who wish to observe lessons from the deck must sit at the long bench at the end of the pool or the baby pool area to wait during lesson time. Tables and lounge chairs are reserved for members of the facility.
• Please enter the facility no more than 5-10 minutes before lesson time.
• Lessons do not include free swim time for the student enrolled, parents, or siblings. If you enter the pool without being a member, your lesson package will be canceled and you will not be eligible for a refund.

Cancellations
If you need to reschedule a lesson due to illness or emergency, please provide us with a minimum of 24 hours' notice. Cancellations outside this window are not eligible for a refund or makeup class.

You may reschedule the class yourself within 24 hours of the class start time. 

If the program is canceled by the facility, a credit will be issued for a makeup class date. If the class cannot be made up, a refund will be issued. 

Refunds
All sales are final. Due to the nature of our services and limited availability, we do not offer refunds for missed classes, schedule conflicts, or changes of plans. 

We encourage families to carefully review their schedules before enrolling. 

Reminders

• Please arrive at least 5-10 minutes early for each class for time to change and use the restroom. 
• Please put long hair in a ponytail or braids. 
• Goggles are recommended but are not required. We usually have some available to borrow during lessons. 

Inclement Weather
Lessons will not be held if there is thunder or lightning in the area. If thunder or lightning occurs mid-lesson, additional time can be added to make up for the lost time by adding 5 to 10 minutes to future lessons, schedule permitting.

We try our best to not cancel classes due to inclement weather and provide as much notice as possible if a storm is incoming. Central Virginia weather is tricky and we try our best to navigate the changing weather patterns the best that we can. Your instructor will contact you in the event of inclement weather. You can also check for weather updates on the Key West Website (updated in real time).

Customer Satisfaction
We encourage you to have good communication with your instructor. It is important for you to be involved in the process and understand what skills your child is doing well with and what skills they need to strengthen.
