Who We Are

Sport Manitoba is the leading planning, programming, and funding agency for the development of amateur sport in Manitoba. Our goal is simple: we aim to ensure every Manitoban has access to the resources they need to achieve their full athletic potential, and we do this every day by developing the skill sets of Manitoba’s athletes, coaches, volunteers, and officials. The Province of Manitoba supports and enables us to achieve this vision.

Every Manitoban should have the opportunity to play and be active with the chance to compete at the highest level of their ability. Sport Manitoba, in partnership with over 100 provincial and community organizations, is committed to supporting and encouraging this journey and will continue to transform in an effort to accommodate Manitoba’s growing demand for diverse athletic opportunities.

Sport Manitoba is a non-profit organization. Revenue generated is reinvested into amateur sport and community programs across the province.

Downtown Safety

Practical tips to keep yourself and your belongings safe when walking to and from the facility.

Walk in twos or more
  • If you park in the surrounding lots or take the bus to work, the Exchange District Biz Patrol Safe Walk is available to walk you to and/or from your vehicle or bus stop. You can request this walk during Patrol hours: Monday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday to Saturday 8 a.m. to midnight. Just call or text 204-791-3161 and tell them where and when you’d like to meet.
  • You are encouraged to walk together with colleagues or others in the facility, where possible.
Stay alert when you’re walking on the street
  • Put away distractions -- don't display valuable items such as phones, headphones, or laptops.
  • Carry a personal alarm if you have one.
  • Plan a route and stick to it.
  • Familiarize yourself with the area you are in and where you are going.
  • Use populated paths when walking, jogging, or cycling.
  • Stay in well-lit areas.
  • Walk confidently.
  • Tell someone your destination and route.
  • If you think you are being followed, change direction and head for a populated area.
  • Criminals associate purses and wallets with money and valuables -- do not carry a purse with a strap across you or wrapped around your wrist.
  • Only carry what you need.
Keep your office and belongings safe inside Sport Manitoba
  • Our security guards can assist you in emergency situations and can be reached at 204-925-5601.
  • Always lock your office when unattended and do not leave valuables in sight.
Run through this mental checklist when you park your vehicle

To avoid potential break-ins when you park your vehicle:

  • Do not leave money, especially if it’s visible, in your vehicle.
  • Do not leave any belongings, especially valuable items, in your vehicle.
  • Always double check that your doors and windows are closed and locked at all times.
Keep these phone numbers on hand
  • For non-emergency situations, you can dial 204-986-6222 to connect with the non-emergency police line. This should only be used for police-related matters, like property thefts or car break-ins. You can also report a crime online (please note the exceptions they list for online reporting) here.
